These past two years have been devastating for the food service industry and it is certainly nice to see small businesses trying to recover. It is imperative that we all try to do something to support local businesses and we should allt ry to find little "hole in the wall" spots to frequent and support. Having said that, J'S AMAZING BREAKFASTS has certainly been trying to hold on for Wiarton locals but visitors will be a bit disappointed with this business. A very small footprint which is easy to miss on the main drag but the CASH ONLY sign as you enter is not. A basic interior which does not look like a restaurant with boxes and papers piled up on the counter with stools in front of an "open kitchen" and a hallway down to a disheveled room with a few tables and chairs and a closed patio filled with scattered chairs and tables. A TOASTED WESTERN $6, although having tasty fillings, was a bit overloaded with too many under-cooked green and red peppers, small chunks of ham and damp, not-even-toasted white bread. Three sad little blueberries and a sliced strawberry were plopped on the plate as some sort of garnish. The coffee was somewhat weak but passable. I hope things pick up for this place but a drastic improvement in all areas is definitely needed.
We are staying near Tobermory and decided to drive down to J's Amazing Breakfast.... absolutely did not disappoint!!!!! This hit the spot and was delicious!!!! I should also mention we arrived right before closing time and the nice gentleman accommodated us and allowed us to dine in! We will be back for sure! Kid-friendliness: My 11 year old had the Dutch pancake for the first time and he enjoyed it!
We went to this amazing breakfast spot while traveling north.i can say it was the best pancake and omelet we ever had .definitely recommend if you get a chance to visit.
What a great experience. Don’t let appearances of the building fool you. The owner and waiter were friendly and passionate about service delicious breakfast. It’s a nice twist on traditional breakfast. We enjoyed eggs Benedict and the berry filled pancake.
Good food. Generous portions. Pictures are of the Dutch Pancake Treat fruit and Dutch Pancake Garden. Good prices. Note it is cash only. Outside balcony available if you want to catch a glimpse of the bay. Very friendly staff.

Most amazing omelette and Dutch pancake I have ever had! Omelette done in the oven, so fluffy and soft, delicious. Apple pancake a true delight, rich full of taste but not greasy or thick. Felt like a blend of Austrian apple strudel and Kaiserschmarrn; the owner is a very pleasant man, dedicated to his business and craft. Worth the trip!
We’ve been twice now and the food doesn’t disappoint! The fresh fruit is a nice touch too. Only three stars because of the state of the restaurant itself. Cluttered and in need of some repairs and an update. The owner was super friendly.
My sister and I were visiting from the states when our Airbnb hosts recommended this place to us and I’m so glad they did. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and it was probably the tastiest eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. The owner was so nice and really attentive, and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and good service!
They didn't use gloves while handling the food, used meager amount of margarine on toast a breakfast place that gave no butter!. There were sleeping bags in a corner so probably live in the same place. Overall I didn't get any confidence about hygiene practices. Taste was average. Avoid unless you are starving to death.
