I had a wonderful experience getting signed up for my very first Nova Scotia Library card! There was no wait at all. Nick the Librarian was so pleasant and efficiently handled both mine and my husband's registrations for cards and then gave us a quick tour. I already checked out a super interesting book about the mating cycles of the ! How fun to be an honorary Maritimer and honor the Canadian libraries as they are currently being defunded and politically curated in the United States. FDT!
We enjoyed our days in Yarmouth recently on a road trip around the province. I'm a preschool teacher and mom so I always check out libraries. I was really sad to see the children's section...just a sad bin of crayons and random coloring sheets...no inviting displays, interactive materials, blocks or cosy corners :, no blocks or trains for little ones. I wonder what resources are needed, financial or energy/creativity-wise, to make the children's section a more vibrant place for the many, many lovely kids and families living in this beautiful community.
Good selection of books but some of the staff are much too miserable to work costumer service. The stereotype of a Liberian being mean must have originated from this library. One particular, I believe her face would spilt in two if she smiled.
I love my library and couldn't do without it! Reading really does transfer the mind. We have a great book club here as well. The staff is so helpful and will assist u in finding what he looking for!
Libraries are so under rated these days! Bring your kids to read, take books home, and so many community activities
