Isalita
"Our menu is inspired by the street stall food found in open air markets throughout Mexico. Regionally unique and fun to eat, we pay special attention to the mercados markets of Mexico City where culinary roads converge and morph with cross-cultural influences. The result is a diverse menu of dishes best shared with friends and colleagues and a cold drink. Our beverages include a well-curated list of tequila, mezcal, rum, and whisky. The bold sibling to neighboring restaurant Mani Osteria & Bar, Isalita is Ann Arbor’s very own Mexican Cantina. With reverence to our trips to Mexico, Isalita recreates the warmth, laughter and mi casa es su casa spirit of Mexico."

This place has such a great vibe for a night out or even a formal dinner. The fajita was really tasty and the chicken tacos were also hot and fresh. Margaritas are very creative though personally find the classic one the safest and less weird. They are a perfect match with all the food! Quite small portion sizes for everything but chips though. Would've appreciated more for the price I'm paying.
Disappointing. The portion sizes were small compared to the price that we paid for them. Their chips and salsa trio was great, but everything else not so much. Ordered their Potato Quesadilla and it was super salty. The Mango Habanero Margarita was sour. Our server was pleasant and so was the atmosphere of the restaurant.
With the pandemic still raging in Michigan and several young kids at home, we do a lot of takeout, I mean A LOT. Isalita, without a doubt is my absolute favorite takeout in all of Ann Arbor. I almost always get the chicken enchiladas pictured. The flavor is spectacular, unlike any I’ve ever had. We also frequent the nachos also pictured and the guacamole is a must-get every time. Our kids enjoy the chicken tacos sauce on the side. Once covid numbers die down in Michigan and/or warm weather I can’t wait to eat there in person. Thanks to the staff and chefs for always making our dinner enjoyable.
Every time I’ve come here the food has been phenomenal. I’ve tried most of the tacos at this point and it’s hard to pick a favorite, but the al pastor is a must try! If you come for lunch it’s usually not too crowded, but dinners can be a little rowdy. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Ann Arbor.
The happy hour margaritas were pretty tasty and a good price, but my god the nachos were horrible. There was enough of this gummy cheese for three additional nacho plates. I’ve only had bad experiences w MI Mexican food so maybe I should just accept it.
I always feel gouged when we eat here or their sister restaurant next door. This time it was $16 for four small iced teas. We ordered two at $4 each, which is too much. But that would have been okay except they charged us again when we ordered refills. So $16 for iced tea with dinner. The chips and small salsa/guacamole starter for $14 is an eye roller as well. The food is fine. But I always leave feeling overcharged and underfed. Won't be returning, I don't like the feeling of being nicked.
Not the typical Mexican restaurant, the menu is kind of small, definitely has some unique items on it, but the food was delicious, the fresh tuna tostada appetizer was amazing, also ordered carnitas tacos and fried chicken tacos, both were excellent, the service was great, it was nice that all the staff would clear plates or refill drinks when needed, you didn't have to wait for your waiter only, great team work and makes the overall experience even better, kind of pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants, but the menu is elevated for sure, we'll be back here to eat again!
Excellent salsa, gua and baja fish tacos!! Would come back again for them. Enchiladas was slightly disappointing, average when compared with their tacos
Portion sizes are extremely small for the price. Food was tasty though. Paid $13 for the quesadilla and $13 for the tacos. Can receive the same amount of food at Taco bell for 5 bucks
Service was slow despite it not being busy at all. Food came out one by one which was odd. Ordered the brisket tacos and it was dry and there was too much avocado crema that it was overpowering and trying to mask the mediocrity of the tacos. Was excited to try but was very disappointed in this experience
