Our coaches are certified to teach the discipline of parkour safely and progressively. Group and private classes in Ulster county and the Hudson Valley.
Parkour is a holistic movement discipline through which one strives to improve oneself by challenging with obstacles. It involves running, jumping, crawling, climbing, vaulting and all other instinctual movement patterns innate to human beings.
At Innate Movement Parkour, we teach the discipline of parkour safely and progressively. It is our intention to convey our passion for the practice while supporting our students in their process of self-mastery. We believe parkour is a holistic discipline that serves to support a healthy lifestyle for its practitioners and we strive to convey this approach to our students. We believe wholeheartedly that recklessness has no place in the practice of parkour and being humble and self-aware of one’s limits at a given moment is vital.
Founder and coach Dylan Johanson holds an ADAPT Level 1 certification in parkour teaching. He attended the the ADAPT Level 2 course in June 2015 and is currently preparing for the assessments, which require a very high level of physical conditioning, technical proficiency, coaching skill and knowledge of the discipline. He has studied with many world-renowned practitioners including Chau Belle, Laurent Piemontesi, Dan Edwardes, Andy Pearson, Frederico Gato Mazzoleni, Mikkel Thisen, Jesse Danger, Sasa Sevo and many others.
