Independent Cleaners & Laundry

I have been going to Independent Cleaners for 15+ years. They are truly an artisan cleaner. The owner Ann (sp?) takes the quality of her product output very personally. they do it all onsite, no farming out to a central cleaning operation. I know that by writing this it could mean more demand on this small operation which could result in delay to my cleaning, but she deserves to be successful. She works very hard and is often there well beyond her posted hours. My wife has found a cheaper discount cleaner (which is not much less expensive) but anything of value that needs cleaning goes to Independent. My shirts only go here. I highly recommend.

The business hours on the window says they are open 7am-6pm. But it's really whenever they feel like! I had to make 3 trips to get my clothes back.

I have been using Independent Cleaners for dry cleaning, laundry, and alternations for many years. The service is great, the owners have good integrity and care about their customers. Items never have that icky dry cleaning smell that can be found elsewhere. Despite the fact that we have moved to a remote area of North Central Washington state (where the single option is to drop off dry cleaning at the local feed store from which it is shipped out to one of those stinky, processed chemical places), I continue to drop off and pick up dry cleaning at Independent Cleaners when I'm back in Portland.
