Glad we visited this newbie in the town !! We were stunned to go through the extensive menu. Overall food quality and taste is good but I believe there is a scope for improvement though. The Set Dosa and Madras coffee preparation were outstanding. The servers are polite and the service is fast. Extra marks for the fresh ambiance. The tall windows made the restaurant well-lit and the big table size makes it look spacious. Negative points for the Neer dosa preparation.. it was extremely oily and crispy. We did convey the same review to the lady at the cashier counter.. but her reply was epic .. “Neera dosa is bad only.. no one likes it..” .
Just reducing 2 stars for 1 rude server. Food is decent, but was a lot better when last time I visited. But it was good for owners to come and discuss the matter, also they offered to wave off the bill, although we insisted and paid it. But still really appreciate them offering us free dinner. Hope our next visit would be a lot better.
This is the best local dosa spot! The restaurant's aesthetic is on point. The staff members were kind and wonderful. I ordered 3 masala dosa to be on the safe side instead of trying something new and they turned out amazing. I never knew the size was so big for the dosa, they were not too oily at all, and the sambar was just perfect. The restaurant provided us with some cupcakes to celebrate fathers day and it was just very sweet gesture. I will be returning back to bring my family.
This place is way better than GURULAKSHMI ! I am comparing to it because apparently people say it’s really good. This place has some interesting delicious appetizers compared to other dosa joints. I don’t know what we got because it was the owner who recommended what to order for appetizers, everything was yummy. All I remember is Gobi 65 which was very good, especially the masala it had on top. We ordered Idli chaat! Yes they have idli chaat. At first I made a face because who has idli as chaat, but I was wrong, it was actually a good weird combo. I would recommend ordering it. Any Ghee fans should for sure order Ghee Roast Dosa because the flavour it had was just delicious. I could have had 3 of these in one go. My only complaint will be for the paper Masala dosa. I know paper dosa is always meant to be longer than the regular dosa. We got masala dosa and paper dosa together. Both the dosas looked exactly same. If it’s advertised as paper then it should be longer than a regular dosa. Idli fans should order Podi Idli, one of my favourite dishes. Any fans for lemonade should definitely order mojito or lemonade both of them were pretty good and spot on. Overall the experience was good. The customer service and ambience was welcoming. The Owners made sure we were taken care. I hope the next time I visit will make me want to add the extra star, but only if they can give me the paper dosa a bit LONGER than the regular ones.
Idli street is an authentic South Indian cuisine in Brampton, having a Very decent interior, Friendly staf serving South Indian varieties with perfectly blended spices! Chutney’s selection is also good and sambar is worth trying. Very good choice of dishes in menu and recommended to visit this place if you are craving to have South Indian food.
We went with great expectations and were a tad disappointed we ordered the chicken soup and asked that it be served as one by two ! We got a cup of soup and then were given an empty one and asked to divide it ourselves!! Hmmm The soup was average as well! The ghee laden mini idlis come eight to a plate and i was reminded of how in dubai the quantity is much higher! The sambhar was good the chutneys okaish!!! The ghee roast dosa was also good though i did not get the taste of ghee melting in my mouth the worst was the kerala parotta! Tough and thick it was a task to finish! we had ordered the chettinad chicken which gets a 3.5 on 5 The seatng is spacious and the restaurant well lit
Finally a good place for South Indian food in Brampton. Good ambience and spacious restaurant. Very good menu accommodating vegetarian and non vegetarian both. Tried two different types of masala dosas, idli and vadas, Gobi 65. Chatnies and sambar were very good. A must try is filter coffee. It took time for someone to take order but after that service was quick. Definitely a must visit if you like South Indian food.
Idli street definitely justifies the name. The Idli starters like Idli 65 was very tasty. We had also ordered Mysore Masala Dosa and Dosa and chicken curry, both were fantastic and tasty. Also tried Guntur chicken , very tasty. Overall 4.5 stars for food. They also have other options like Biriyani, Roti's and other veg and non veg starters. Service is good and fast. Next time, have to try Idli street special idli, but the preparation time mentioned in the menu is 30 mins.
Huge variety of south indian food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved their hospitality and food was really delicious. In sweet, we had gulab jamuns, they were super soft and yummy Food was so tempting that we missed to click some more pictures
Chicken soup, Kerala porotta, chettinad pepper chicken masala, are definitely not their forte. I was stunned to see curry leaves and cardamom in Chicken soup. Atleast have this mentioned in Menu so people would be aware what they are buying. I still feel what i drank was chicken curry and not soup. Kerala porotta was tasteless, try adding salt to the dough next time. Also, they are supposed to be thin and layered. The one I had here was so thick. Chettinad pepper chicken masala is supposed to be spicey for the ones who are from Maharashtra its more or less like Kolhapuri but here the spice itself is not there. I looked around people generally order in bulk but dont eat in full. Now that definitely isnt my concern. But when I have such terrible experience I am just trying to compare my experience with others and what I see around isnt a pleasant sight. I also noticed none of the servers wear a hair net. Why not? Even Tim Hortons has that. Did you guys ran out of budget? On top of that servers are chewing Gum while taking orders from customers. I am not sure if this restaurant is suppose to give a south indian vibe. But if that was the intent. I can bet you they are not even close.
