Story

Ideal Bike is a bicycle repair, gear and wheeled-sport dealer located in the downtown core of Belleville, Ontario. The shop carries a wide range of bicycles from road to mountain, bmx to "fat bikes," as well as add-ons and apparel. We also sell and service skateboards and scooters.

Ideal Bike's mission is to support the Belleville community in realizing the full potential of the bicycle, by providing individualized service ensuring that your bike is exactly what you want. We know that the perfect bike is key to to your cycling enjoyment.

Ideal Bike started in 2000 in Toronto. Owner Ed Kraus and his wife, Robyn - both avid cyclists, started the shop which was located at Queen and Jones. In 2007, Ed and Robyn made the big move from the city for Wellington, Prince Edward County.

Ed has over 20 years experience in the bike business and customers seek out his expertise for sales, service and riding experiences.

Took my gravel bike in for chronic shifting issues and a tune-up. Shannon took his time to answer all of my questions, address my concerns and educate me on what was done. While it was getting serviced, he called me whenever an issue arose and kept me updated. Price was fair, the work done was great and the customer service was next level. I really enjoy going there and will continue to go there to service my bike!
We bought a couple cruiser bikes from them and we couldn't be happier. Great prices, products, and staff. We saved a couple bucks by buying their bikes which were used for bike tours. They tuned them up and did their very best to get us the colours we wanted. We'll be back for accessories!
Ideal Bike is an honest and friendly local bike store. We were visiting on a bike trip. They provided us with maps and advice about the best locations to ride. They also tuned up my bike quickly. Their mechanic Shannon is incredibly knowledgeable.
Soooo happy we found these guys. Ed and Shannon offer outstanding customer service. Spent hours with my wife and I selecting the perfect bikes, patiently explaining mechanics, components, materials, etc etc. Customers for life.
Knowledgeable staff. I was getting some warranty work done and asked to get something else done at the same time. They said it had to be different service appointments. So now my bike would have to go back to the store for the next improvement. Weird!!!

So I had a "clicking" problem with my bike when it was under load. I showed up to the shop, and Shannen worked on it immediately. He fixed it right away, how convenient is that!? Amazing service, amazing shop! Thank you very much.
Love this place. Went in for spin shoes for my husband and came out with not only the shoes but the perfect bike for myself. The staff took the time to get me exactly what I was looking for. They set the bike up for me so it was a perfect fit and even put it safely into my car for me. They are not only top notch for customer service but are reasonably priced. They make it easy to want to shop local
I just placed my first online order with Idealbike. Absolutly terriffic service! Along with my order I also emailed Ed with concerns about shipping my purchase. He responded very timely and reassured me everything will be packed with care. My order arrrived in perfect condition in the time promised. This level of service is one of the reasons I am a believer in Local Bike Shops over big box sports or retail stores. Knowledge and service is unmatched. If I lived in Belleville Idealbike would be my go to shop. Thanks Ed!
This is the store I find myself in most downtown. I don't go here exclusively as my Local Bike Shop as we have so many great options in Belleville but every transaction I've had here has been great.
