Idaho Hotel

A fantastic hotel far removed from everything. The decoration is pretty awesome, with antique furniture and everything. It is worth staying here and having a burger. The surrounding mountains are lovely and the town is fun to explore. Definitely worth the trip!

Honey Beaulieu loves it here. So do I, and several more of us who have a great time every year. Nothing like booking a room in a living museum. You want to learn about the 1800s? This is it!!! Heaven on Earth for sure.

We spent 2 days in the hotel for our anniversary in June. Because it's a historical site, the owners are very limited on what they can and can't repair. So if you're looking for Hilton or even Best Western comfort you won't find it here, it was cold and kind of spooky, which I found great because it was authentic. What was so cool was that it's historic and you can see all the rooms and how old they are. We met the owner and he told us stories about the building. There were a few minors there two and they had stories. We explore the town and even went into an old store. We took a horseback tour and it was amazing. So much fun and knowledge. We also went to a place full of crystals, road ATV's, explored old mines and even had a dog for company. Overall our experience was great. They even made meals for us. But be aware there aren't any restaurants so you meals will be expensive, but they have to bring up the food and hope people will order, so it's understandable.

I've been going to the hotel for years. A couple times each summer. I was surprised by the negative review until I saw that she is an assistant at Portland Community College and lives in Portland. That answers my question. No in-room toilets, no wifi, no CNN, no access to I-5 thinking? The Owyhees must seem like waste land hell. The Idaho Hotel is kept in amazing condition in my opinion considering everything must be imported from the Boise Valley. Yes, on a hectic weekend, the staff can be on the run to try to keep up, but they have always been very nice to me and my group every time we've been there. The rooms are much like they were 100-150 years ago. That's what makes this place so incredible. Probably not for the I-5 crowd but for the non-snobs of the world, it is a touch of time travel. Great Pies, too. Definitely recommend a visit but be sure to plan ahead and make reservations.
