I’ve completed two road tests at this location, and both times the wait was minimal and the overall experience was excellent. My first test was for Class 4, and Joey was my examiner. He made sure I clearly understood the instructions and the process before we began. Throughout the test, he provided clear direction and remained professional and polite.nI had my MST today and was fortunate to have Joey again. The experience was just as positive as the first time. I mentioned to him afterward that he had tested me previously and thanked him for being patient and respectful.
I had a very upsetting Class 7 road test experience at the Burnaby ICBC location. I have done several road tests here over the past year because this location often has the earliest available time slots, and I have also taken over 35 hours of lessons with certified driving instructors. My instructors have consistently told me that I shoulder check properly, sometimes even more than necessary.nnDuring my recent test, the examiner did not introduce himself, which was unusual compared with my other tests. His behaviour made me uncomfortable from the beginning, including unwanted physical contact with my hand and a distracted attitude during the setup. I was also told I missed “some” shoulder checks, but when I asked for clear examples, the explanation was vague and inconsistent.nnThe most concerning part was during reverse parking. I wanted to wait because another car had not finished parking, but I felt pressured to begin. Then the examiner told me to stop and blamed me for starting, even though I had raised the safety concern first. This felt extremely unfair.nnWhen I spoke to the supervisor afterward, he was dismissive, aggressive, and condescending. He made me feel like submitting a complaint would be pointless because it would come back to him.nnAfter multiple experiences here, it honestly feels like this location benefits from people repeatedly failing and rebooking. Even though appointments open up here more often, I would not recommend this centre. The process felt unfair, disrespectful, and very discouraging.
Absolutely ridiculous. If anyone is looking to take their road test here, rebook somewhere else. They will flat out lie on your exam. Feels like they have a quota of fails to make and make more money.nTook my test with Catherine on June 4th. Before she even got I to the car, my instructor said “oh no, she doesn’t pass anyone”, what a good look for your examiners. She gets in the car, I ask her how her days going and she flat out says “let’s focus on in the test instead”. We turned off lougheed and she was already ticking off boxes. We pull up to parallel parking, she wrote “hopped the curb”. Absolutely did not. She marked me wrong on 12 things, that I know I did correctly, even shifting in an automatic, because that makes so much sense right? It would have been nice if she paid attention to my driving instead of her clip board. I don’t understand why we can’t film our tests, maybe the examiners would mark correctly on exams then
I recently completed my Class 4 Restricted road test and had a very positive experience with Maiko. He was professional, polite, and respectful throughout the entire process. His instructions were clear and easy to understand, which helped me feel comfortable during the test.nnI appreciated his calm and courteous manner, as well as the professionalism he demonstrated. Thank you, Maiko, for making the road test experience a positive one.
I had a great experience with Karan during my Class 4 road test on Lougheed Highway. From the moment I met him at the counter, he was respectful, professional, and made me feel comfortable. His instructions throughout the test were clear and easy to follow, which helped reduce my nerves. Thank you, Karan, for the positive experience!
