We stopped by for dinner and drinks after doing some horseback riding and a brewery tour at Canmore Brewing Company. Had a wonderful time and the bartender/waiter was such a cool guy. Food was delicious. The Margherita Flatbread is perfection. Everything was so fresh. There is outdoor seating and two restrooms, too. Free wifi.
This is pretty much the small hole-in-the-wall pub that I'd build myself! Love it!!! Many might categorize this as a "dive bar" which, in this case, should be a badge of honour. Great bites & the house lager can be sipped on all afternoon. If you're looking for a great small town bar to sip a decent variety of beers & snack on some good value non-standard pub grub you've now found it. Do yourself a favour and give HY5 a visit!
The sever Randy was super helpful, however the owner proceeded to be severely disrespectful towards my family and I when we asked for food. The service was quick though which I enjoyed thoroughly, but I cannot believe that the owner treats its customers and employees as if we are peasants. I highly do not recommend to any family, friends, cousins, ancestors and any human being to even view/visit this pub during their beautiful trip the Banff. 1 star and very worth it.
Deliciousness at its best. Good Ambiance good vegetarian food too. Veg Burger was one of the best.
Unfortunately this place was a huge disappointment. We are new to Canmore and decided to check this place out as we read several reviews saying they had great vegan alternatives. However, once we arrive, we got glared at by the female server who took several minutes to see if we wanted anyhing. She then told us they had no vegan options and that this place was for just locals which we are becoming. Such an unpleasant experience and since we felt so unwelcome we left.
Best owner I have ever met. He is so good .food and beer amazing! He goes above and beyond to make it the best experience of your vacation!! Best server my dear Sarah jo! She is the best!!!
Forget waiting for the bigger brew pub! Walk around the corner to Hy Five! We’d been waiting for too long at the popular family brew pub when we gave up and went is search of greener pastures. Did we ever find it with Hy Five. Food was really good. Service was excellent. Table of 6, including kids, accommodated with no issue, and expectations seriously surpassed. This is now our Canmore stopping place. Thank you Hy Five for being awesome.
We decided to stop by cause of the good reviews, but we still can’t understand how this place has good reviews. Pulled pork wasn’t goodwe can’t call that pulled pork, service was slow. Waitress was nice and doing her best to serve everybody while the other waitress was sitting on some customer’s table and socializing, she didn’t help the other waitress at all. We don’t recommend this place!
Quaint little pub, loved the astetics, staff was friendly and helpful, food was delicious, although it was a small menu mostly snack foods, and I loved their ceasers, my fiancee loved their "emotive afterglow sangria" all in all, great experience, will definitely be dining here again
Found this cozy little place last year, and every time we went again we’ve never been disappointed! Amazing and super friendly service and great music too! Vegetarian and vegan food options were super delicious! Definitely sad that the Indian style perogies are not on the menu anymore. Decor is a bit bare and could use a little love, we will definitely return again. :
