First: hole-in-the-wall alert First impression was: hole in the wall. Services are amazing: friendly & fast Got the Banh mi Bo “beef” kho this is really good. And the steak and eggs is pretty good. Would go back and get the soup Nam vang. Cash ONLY.
If you want to try Vietnamese cuisine, this is your must-to-come place. The small cafe shop serves excellent food with a cozy and warm Vietnamese atmosphere. Customers often come through the back door located near the Subway side. If you come through the front door located in the MLK, please bang on the door to get the owner’s attention. I hope it helps
Important notes: - most used entrance is in back with the big parking lot - cash only, pay at counter when you’re done - ask for menu if you need it There are 2 entrances to the restaurant - the correct one is in the back with the big parking lot ha! If you go around the front you’ll usually find the door locked but if you keep trying to open it someone will come to your aid. If you hear a bird chirping you’re not crazy, there’s a robot bird in the corner. If you go when it’s busy you may have to wait but the staff does sense the urgency and they haven’t forgotten about you. Good customer service! If you don’t already know what you want you’ll have to ask for a menu. My guy got the Nam Vang rice noodle soup and I got the stewed beef rice noodle soup. So good! Don’t forget to squeeze lemon in the dip bowl with salt and chilis. Wonderful dip for the beef! We also got iced lemon juice which was incredibly refreshing. I’m a small person and the small stewed beef rice noodle soup was very filling! Next time I may just get the stewed beef with the baguette instead. The tv plays showing flea market scenes of Vietnam. Overall great experience! Kind and authentic vibe! Also you may see an old woman selling produce as you exit the parking lot - if only we had more cash/smaller bills maybe we would’ve bought something from her
GOOD PHNOM PENH-STYLE NOODLES SOUP The outside of the restaurant is not too appealing same goes for the neighboring businesses. Once you are inside, this restaurant is a bit more inviting, and it serves delicious Phnom Penh noodle soup. You can order one with egg noodles or another with regular pho noodles. Both taste good. Vietnamese iced coffee is a little bitter and not sweet at all. I had to ask for more condensed milk. The server was nice enough to add more for me. This business accepts cash only, so be sure to prepare for it. I did not see any signs posted at the entrance until I had a conversation with an older sister who mentioned it on the phone, so I started looking for the posted sign and asked the waiter. She calmly told me, “Yes, cash only but don't worry, eat first.” I ate a little, then ran to Safeway to get some cash. There’s an ATM inside the store. Anyway, I want to share my experience. So, you know what to expect. Good people, good food!
You can enter from behind of the restaurant, park in the same lots with Safeway. We ordered 1 Nam Vang noodle with soup and another without soup the dried one. The foods are delicious, however the bowls are not that big although we ordered large size, and there is no quail eggs for the Nam Vang. They only accept Cash, no credit card. The kitchen looks a little bit low hygiene, hope they can keep it more clean. I would come back definitely, want to support local restaurant.
Food is ok, lots of MSG and cash only. They gave us lesser vegetables when we ordered two bowls of Nam Vang noodles even during Summer time. My mom always gave generous tips for them.
Hole-in-the-wall offering delicious, authentic Vietnamese noodle soups. Friendly and efficient service. Highly recommend their beef stew soup #4 and their #2, both with rice noodles. Broths were flavorful and savory. The beef and tendon were extremely tender. Their sliced pork and organ meats were also very tasty. Look forward to trying their sandwiches next time!
The food was great and really authentic. The price was reasonable. Make sure you bring your cash. I loved their menu with pictures. It is simple, straightforward and easy to understand.
It's a hole in the wall but this place has the best dry noodles rice or egg noodles. The owner she's extremely clean so DON'T LET THE OUTSIDE fool you!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
Best hu tieu nam vang ever. I have been in the State for around 10 years and traveled several of states, this place has the most authentic and legit Nam Cang Noodle styles. We visited Seattle for the weekend and got recommended that we should try out this restaurant. At first, I was a bit doubtful due to the outlook and location but when I got inside, my perspective was changed. The decoration and the vibe look like VN in the 90s early 20s and the food is wonderful. The down side is they only taking cash at the moment but no worries, there is a BOA not to far away. Next time when I come back, I will definitely try this out again.
