Humber College

I wasn't ecstatic about this campus. It's nice. The people there were nice. The classes were nice and clean. I attended a Halloween Haunted House event here, yearsss back and I had fun.

Allow me to preface my review by saying that I really like Humber and would recommend the school to anyone. The residence on the other hand..... not so much. The rooms are really quite nice, a lot nicer than many residences I have encountered. But it's the meal plan I take issue with. I am a student in residence, which requires me to have a meal plan. This means that for every meal I have to eat at the Lake Cafe (or between the hours of 10-2 on weekdays run across campus and eat in the other building). If I could give less than 1 star I would. My health has taken a pretty severe hit since I've been eating here. Pretty minimal options for healthy food. But that's not the main issue I have. My problem is with the portion sizes. At the beginning of the year we used to be served a lot of food. More than enough to satisfy a person for an entire meal. But starting from about the middle of school year onwards, they have halved the portions and if you so much as ask for more food the staff say no. I've had several staff tell me they are not allowed to offer more food. It was very heavily implied to me that should one of the staff members offer more rice in a Burrito Bowl or give a few more pieces of broccoli in a stir fry, they would face reprimanding from their supervisors. "I don't want to cause any trouble" one worker said with a sullen expression on their face. It really is a sad state of affairs that I desperately wish could be addressed for next years intake of students. I would hate to see them having to go to bed hungry as I have.

The faculty and administration staff are arrogant, condescending and disrespectful. Daniela Bellicoso, a Psychology 100 teacher, is disrespectful to her students and will complain if a student isn't happy about a grade. She thinks she's right and better than everyone!
