Super pleased. After getting the run around from another company for 3 months we cancelled our order and went to Hudson's. They said 6 to 8 weeks and we got these in 7. Friendly professional staff and delivery personnel. Great quality and selection AND Made in Canada is a bonus as well.
Love my new bed from Hudson's of Stratford! The delivery guys were so good: they were really careful and so polite. They set the bed up very quickly and efficiently. They removed everything - all the plastic and the old mattress & box spring. Great service/ Super! Thanks so much!!!
We bought a sectional with a sofa bed from Hudson's made in Canada. It was one that had already been purchased by a customer but returned to the store as it wouldn't fit into the house. It was a great price and the colour was beautiful. The sales rep was very friendly and helpful. Delivery day came and the movers were afraid it wouldn't fit into our house. But they didn't give up and they came up with a plan. It took some time but they got it in. The entire time they were nothing but professional and very nice. The whole experience with Hudson's was a pleasant one and I will definitely shop there again in the future.
After Christmas I went here to buy a new guest room bed with my other half. We were helped and given our space to help with selection, and loved the atmosphere of the store. The bed arrived today on time and I was mortified I forgot to pull out tip money for the workers. The duo who set up everything were a son and pop type team and they were lovely people and professional. I intend to go into Stratford on my errands tomorrow and ensure I pop in to leave a tip and thank them. Thank you.
We bought a matress here about 8 yrs ago and unfortunatly experienced some issues along the way with the manufacturer's quality. To be honest today we were dealing with our third warrenty claim which is never fun but it happens. Everytime the team at Hudsons were amazing and acted on our behalf to make sure the warrenty was honored and that we were taken care of. There is a reason this store is a stratford landmark.
Hudson's is an outstanding company, I have recently bought a bunk bed for my children from here and it is an amazing bed with the best price in town guaranteed. I had these bunk beds less then 6 months when the movers cracked off the wooden dowels in the support railings for both of the beds. I had called hoping to be able to order some dowels needed because of the unique sizing. The employees at Hudson's took it upon themselves to go on a mission to find some, they found a few to cover what I needed and they even took apart the bed on their floor to be sure it was the same size ones that I needed! To say they go above and beyond is an understatement, Thank you Hudson's!
Bought a more expensive mattress and box spring mostly because of the "great warranty" described by the salesman. When the mattress started to sag we called in only to be told it must be sagging 2" with no weight applied. That's absolutely insane. Now my back hurts and can't get comfortable. Buy elsewhere!
Quality of product is questionable at best. Received the flyer in the mail that advertised a single bed on sale. The regular price on the bed was around the $800 mark and they had it on sale for $397 +tax with a mattress. Seemed like a good deal and we we looking to get a bed for our son who was graduating out of a toddler bed. Went to the store and had a look at the display model in the show room, seemed to be exactly what we needed and they had it in stock, in the white I had requested. The sales staff were very helpful and very polite, they helped me load it on to my trailer. All in all to this point, a very good experience. Took the bed home and unboxed it, this is where disappointment set in. The item resembled the show room model only in shape. The edges of every piece were chipped, the finish was blotchy and smudged, th trim was bubbled and warped, the drawer handle holes were not level and the mattress was not as pictured in the flyer or on the show room model, but rather a chunk of foam in fabric. I go to a local, privately owned store expecting quality but to be honest, I have had better quality shopping at a “Swedish big box, you assemble” store at less than half the price point I paid ‘on sale’. The flyer quoted the regular price at around $800? Really? That is obserd! I feel as if I was ripped off at the just under $450! The store should be embarrassed to sell this low quality considering their reputation in the area.
The wonderful thing about this store is its owner, Sylvia. She is truly a national treasure. As Canada celebrates its 150th Birthday, I have long been impressed that this story carries Canadian made furniture and clothing. If you see something and it is not in your size, the sales representatives can usually get you want you need in record time. You cannot get that anywhere else but an independent store. The prices are quite fair. Finally, I like hats. This store sells great men's hats.
I'm new to Stratford and decided to support local stores so I headed to Hudsons. I went looking for a recliner and found a power lift chair on sale. I have back problems so I tried it out in the store and it was exactly what I needed. Doug provided excellent service. I had some issues with the chair and contacted them several times. Jim came out immediately to deal with these issues. The last time I had a problem Doug immediately said that they would replace the chair with a brand new one. The issues with the chair had nothing to do with Hudsons furniture. I just happened to get a chair that was a lemon. As a senior Hudsons took excellent care of me. Sometimes stores will take advantage of seniors Hudsons is extremely helpful, caring, trust worthy. I look forward to my next furniture purchase from Hudsons. If your looking for the best place to shop for quality, good prices, and exemplary service Hudsons is the place to go. Thank you Doug, Jim and your delivery people.
