Hu's Kitchen

According to the owners, they’ve recently just opened. They have a lot of spicy dishes that you don’t predominately find in Chinese restaurants - if you are looking for sweet and sour pork then this is definitely not the restaurant for you. We ordered about 4 dishes here and got them all to go. The dishes came out quite fast however the price is on the steeper side. My favourite dish was the boiled fish with the Sichuan style red pepper soup, it was so spicy but yet delicious.

Relative decent chinese food in coquitlam.

had stir fried thick noodle here today and it was wonderful. everything was tasty. price is decent at $8.95 lunch special. staff was friendly, will definitely visit again and try other foods.

Extremely tasty and very affordable! For me, this place has replaced Alvin Garden as tops for spicy eats in Burnaby. The boiled fish in spicy tofu soup is amazing, along with the majority of the spicy items on the menu stir fried pork slices with pepper, Hu's special grilled fish, diced chicken with peanut and garlic sauce, and Hu's special cold noodle are all delicious. Their non spicy menu is also extremely tasty and very kid friendly. Braised pork meat balls, basa fish with pine nuts and sauteed prawns were all tasty and well seasoned a bit on the sweeter side, and it's perfect for cooling off between spicy dishes. I saw another table order the Hu's special braised pork hock, but it's advance order only same with the marinated duck. Looked and smelled amazing, but will have to try another visit. I'd suggest a group to try as many items on the menu as possible. Some items usually the non spicy take a little longer to make, but it's always worth it. Really great food at really reasonable prices. Quickly became a favourite, for sure! Note: this restaurant was sold last year and only reopened June 2019.

We ordered , , and rice. They tasted fine, but the portions were unbelievably meager. The size of the dishes were probably only 2/3 of that of the other Hunanese restaurants such as and . But the prices were the same. had only 2 pieces of bacon in it. I let my wife take the bacon first thinking there would be more underneath the cauliflowers. Well, there was no more! was mostly chilly peppers. Probably only 1/4 - 1/5 of the dish was chicken. We had to dig hard to look for them.

Horrible service and the food use old rice and reused oil. The waitress force us to pay 10% tips even tho she provide us horrible service. Who shows only nasty look chinese 20s 30s woman. Smile when u serve people. Definitely WILL NOT go back and never recommend to anyone.

I used to be a regular customer of this restaurant when it was located at Metrotown. I was shocked the time I see it being replaced to another restaurant Remember it was a Chinese noodle restaurant,but only lasts for couple months and quickly shutdown and replaced to Chengdu Spicy Restaurant which still there now All my frds were really upset abt Hotluck being closed.After a while I’ve been told that someone saw the Lady owner of Hotluck in this Restaurant. And they still have the similar taste. I’m really surprised and excited to know that. I’m still their regular customer as well as my frds with no doubt .

I ordered porkhook and saw many pig hairs still on it. I asked the server, and she acted like it's normal. Small portion, bad seasoning and price is not friendly. I will never go to this place again.
