I cannot stress enough on how not good and how not quality Asian food this is. We ordered beef lo mein, The noodles were literally 25 cent noodles that you can get off the shelf at any Dollar General, and it had absolutely no flavor. We also ordered general tso's chicken The chicken that they used was the same chicken that most Asian buffets use for sweet-and-sour chicken which is battered and deep fried which general tso's chicken should not be deep fried or have batter on it, and the sauce that was used for it tasted like sweet-and-sour soup that had been thickened with cornstarch and had absolutely no spice to it what so ever. We ordered Mongolian beef that had no greens whatsoever in it no flavor absolutely horrible, we ordered pot stickers and instead received dumplings that had fairly raw sausage in it, their crab rangoons taste like the most cheapest imitation crab you can ever buy And we're so gummy you might as well call them gummy bears with cream cheese. Whatever you do do not order from these people.
Absolutely the worst! If I could do negative stars to get a refund I would. Chinese is my favorite food to eat and I have never , I mean Never have I ever been more disappointed in food than of this place! The Mongolian beef tastes like gravy, I thought I was at a Thanksgiving dinner and just missing the mashed potatoes. The orange chicken was slop and tasteless like oil, Gordon Ramsey would absolutely shut this place down! I will say the crab rangoon, not terrible, and the fried rice just a little burnt taste lingered with it. The entrees, terrible, no flavor and the soup smelled like dirty mop water. So sad to pay for something disappointing, it looks like others had the same experience. I feel this is a place you go to once out of curiosity and never come back to. They need new chefs cooking here. Not sure if it's family loyalty, but the cooks need to be replaced or learn how to cook. Maybe they need to visit other Chinese restaurants to remember what good food tastes like. Something has to change there. I'd give it another shot if they did change the poor and tasteless ingredients.
I just moved around the corner from House of China and was so excited to try for the first time. The reviews were so mixed but I figured it couldn’t go that badly! I was wrong though. It was possibly the worst food my boyfriend and I have ever had, and we’ve had some bad food over the years! The crab rangoons were the typical, frozen rangoons, so not terrible. I had to ask for the sauce for them though so would have been bummed if I didn’t. The potstickers were pretty good, but no sauce was included in the bag and since I didn’t ask for it, it wasn’t there. Of everything we ordered, those were the two items to not get thrown away. The hot and sour soup was absolutely horrific. I’m not sure if someone dumped sweet and sour sauce into the broth by accident, but it was disgustingly sweet, not at all hot or sour. It had a pink color to it too which was odd, but made sense once we tasted it. I’m hoping this was some kind of mistake, because otherwise I worry what their quality control measures are like. The sweet and sour chicken was soooo chewy and not at all crispy or fresh. The fried rice we ordered with it was very greasy, without any vegetables. Lastly, we got the Mongolian beef, paid extra for fried rice and got white. Not a big deal, but the quality of the beef was appalling. I needed a steak knife to hack through it and it had a grayish green color to it once you cleared off the sauce. To me, Mongolian beef has a thick brown sauce. This sauce was very thin and runny, a pale tan color, and once again sweet in flavor. The prices here might be tempting to try, but don’t. Try one of the other Chinese places in the area instead.
This place is very unique. The decor is very original. The store is very cozy and very welcoming. The menu offers a wide variety of food and the prices are really good. The food is absolutely delicious and always hot and fresh. They serve everything on or in styrofoam which is ok for me. The staff is very helpful and friendly and took great care of me. The food came out fast.
I cannot stress enough how folks should not and must not eat this garbage. I ordered honey chicken and fried rice around 7pm. The "fried rice" had clearly been sitting in a warmer since they opened in the morning. It was rubbery, burnt, smelled weird and tasted worse. The honey chicken was cooked through shockingly but was super dry, soggy and tasteless. The honey sauce was weird and oily and didn't have any flavor resembling chinese food. Idk what happened to House of China over the years, but this is not it. So disappointed.
$28.20 is what I spent on an order of Crab Rangoons, large Orange chicken with fried rice, large General chicken with fried rice and a large beef lo mein. They gave me over cooked chicken rolled in fake orange sauce that didn’t even taste like orange. The lo mein isn’t even real lo mein noodles… it’s ramen! Threw in some vegetables and little beef sauce, just call it ramen noodles not lo mein. I came here because Yum Yum Sushi wasn’t open, it’ll never happen again!
Worst Chinese food I've ever had. No seasoning. Just not good. Don't waste your time.
This is such a solid place. They are always fast and friendly. The prices also can't be beat. The food is always quality and portions are pretty big!
Food was just terrible, no seasoning, noodles tastes like peanut oil, under cooked veggies, food was soggy. Overall terrible. Spent far to muchFood: 1/5
I ordered General Chicken and paid extra for the fried rice. The sauce is congealed. The fried rice was not what I expected. The chicken in the rice is very tasteless and dry. Plus it is just rice with chicken and something to turn it brown.
