Hotel Northern Star

This hotel has so much potential. The majority of reviews posted on here are true so I won't comment on those. The journey starts at the front desk which was absolutely terrible inflexible staff that uses words like its policy or is procedure or it's in our system as instead of listening to the person talking. You then stay at this crappy part of the hotel which is the only part that's open as Renovations have been underway forever. The first thing you notice is a fire suppression system is down. But they posted a sign saying fire patrols in place. Not sure what that means there was only four people staying on mywing and in discussions with the other couple they were not happy either. My laptop screen was bigger than the tv. The air conditioning looks like it came out of the 1800s. When I went to talk to the nice stuff to ask where I could buy some pop or if the bar was open she actually was too busy talking on her phone to answer me and just pointed. Do not stay here but if you have to like I had to do not use your credit card to pay for your room. The deposit they want is ridiculous and takes forever to get back. Use your debit card pay the $200 deposit and get it back in the morning. And even then they have to check my room they checked all the face loss he commented that there was a smudge on one and after a little argument I got my money back this place is a health and fire code disaster will not stay here again

This hotel is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. I had a very unpleasant stay at the northern star hotel and my refund has not been returned to my card from thenhotel, the room that I stayed in had drugs in it and nobody seems to be making a bigndeal about it. The staff and everybody there keeps talking to me as if it was my drugs that I put there. my dog almost ate the bag. I demanded to talk to a manager and they told me the manager wouldn't be and until the next morning. all they did was switch my room and told me that the police will be called and blah blah blah dealt with. the woman did not give me a receipt for my stay or my deposit back and there were no managers on site for me to talk to about my situation. I stayed on the 7th to the 8th. The next morning when I was trying to check out again apparently the manager wasn't there and wasn't going to be until the next day when we were not in town anymore. The woman at the front desk add that the cops will be notified for a police report and that I will be contacted I went home I waited and today I ended up getting another charge from their hotel of 161 dollars on my credit card thank God my credit card refused and blocked it so I called and ask to speak to the manager but apparently he's now on holidays I demand a refund but they told me that a refund will not be given back because that's what the manager said and that the manager talk to the staff and the staff said it wasn't theirs so he just left it at that and it's fine apparently. Sounds to me more like the manager doesn't want to deal with his problems and doesn't want to give me my refund back because their hotel sucks and is probably in on it who knows maybe it was his bag. They don't want to check the camera footage to see who is in the room last and told me that nobody had checked out of that room in a couple days implying that it's mine. I should have looked on Google to see the reviews before I had booked my hotel but I was on bookings.com and was so tired and we just needed a place to spend the night and that was the cheapest place but still ended up being I outrageous price. They never bothered to call the authorities either and notify them of this incident my dog could have died. If a family was staying in that room a child could have got seriously hurt or killed because of it. I am so mad right now because of the lack of professionalism and communication and that the manager couldn't even call me when he was apparently in yesterday night before he decided to leave on holidays I feel like this hotel needs to be shut down no wonder why there's nobody there. If I was anybody that needed somewhere to stay I sure the heck would stay clear of this place I've seen a lot of Dives throughout my life but this one tops them all. Is so disgusting the room stunk like somebody was smoking in it and it's a non-smoking room a disability room on that fact with chunks of hair in the lamp shade it looks like there's blood stains on the carpet. I got the disability room because i have a bad back and the room the moved me to was on the top floor with no elevator. Also my dog is a service dog. And i still had to pay a pet fee. Everywhere else i have ever stayed i never had to pay a pet fee because he is a working dog. That i could of lost do to there lack of cleanliness and professionalism. This hotel just gives you those creepy Vibes somewhere where someone would take someone and murder them.

WORST HOTEL EVER!nn- Fire alarms not working and they simply posted a printout message mentioning to call 911 if there is an emergency LOL.n- No water dispenser anywhere in the hotel.n- Gym has been “in service” for months.n- Strong odour that will give you a migraine.n- Pathetic customer service.n- Washroom tub making squeaky sounds when you stand on it.nnAnd the list goes on….nnIf you prefer your safety, AVOID this place at all costs. This was the worst hotel stay experience of my life. No wonder the parking lot was completely empty during my stay.

Evening shift was good morning shift lady was very rude and charged us for a drink spilled in a sheet. 45$ then after wards said she won’t charge us for the sheet she will charge us 100 for the extra people staying in the room. But upon checking in nothing was said. This hotel is not the greatest bathroom door wouldn’t shut and breakfast had old boiled eggs. Definitely won’t be staying here again. Front desk morning staff can use some extra courses in customer services and we were told she was gonna call the police because she doesn’t know how to deescalate a situation just treats us like shit and tries charging us for minor stuff that can be washed. Like every other hotel did. Hands down worst service

Worst hotel hands down. Dirty, hair everywhere, looked like all they did to clean it was put the pillows on the bed and moved on. Staff are less than helpful and charged me for a room that was refused to stay in.
