Story

Hot Wax began in 1978 when records were the way to buy music, then came cassettes then CDs. The only constant for over 30 years has been our love of records. We love the way they sound and the way they look. If you do too, stop in and see us.

We have tens of thousands of used records as well as new vinyl releases and classic re-issues no collection should be without.

My go to for vinyl and cassette tapes. People working there are such a good vibe. Great selection, super fair prices on the cassettes. My dad went here in the 70's, i keep the tradition alive.

I had a really bad experience at the shop recently wouldn’t recommend going I called over the phone to sell two records and he gave me a quote for both of them over the phone and then when I got there he got very loud and rude and said the price was only for one .which was not fair at all and he kept getting louder when I was saying he told me over the phone a different price

Amazing store in Kensington. Easy to find and cheaply priced used vinyls. The staff are also really polite and is willing to help with whatever you need.

Great store with really good prices and selection in the used bins. Only in town for 2 weeks and made my second visit today, came out with a huge armload for $100 to add to the stack I got last week for $75. Will be back every time I'm in Calgary.

This place is an institution for a reason!  Lovely staff who were very patient and helpful with a group of us doing a photo scavenger hunt.

after the new owners took over, i love this place. prices are much more reasonable and the discount sections where i spend most of my cash are great too. definitely stop by!
