Hopital Jean-Talon

If you’re looking for a hospital to take care of you, Jean-Talon is NOT the place. 1. Terrible communication with the staff. Nobody tells you anything —what to do or where to go. I have never felt frustration like this in my life. My mother and I spent hours going from floor to floor just because nobody had told us clear & correct information. but I also acknowledge the small language barrier — most of the staff were bilingual but French was definitely their first language so it made it a bit harder to understand as a native English speaker. I don’t blame them for that 2. The longest wait times you could imagine. I’m actually writing this review as I’m in the waiting room right now. We arrived at 8AM and it’s now 2:30PM. It took them hours just to attend to my mom. They seem to be understaffed. ? 3. One thing I immediately noticed is that Jean Talon seems to be extremely underfunded. The whole hospital looks run down and old, I know our healthcare system is abysmal but my goodness! The government should really invest into these hospitals. In my opinion, it’s the least they could do. In conclusion, I don’t think my mom and I will be going to this hospital ever again. I advise those who are reading this review to do the same. Don’t go.

Came in at around 2:45pm on the 28th and left at 3am on the 29th, Took 12 hours to finally see a doctor. Staff is considerate but god does our health system suck. The staff is mostly bilingual for anyone wondering. Things go pretty fast during the day but at night it took absolutely forever for people to be called:-/

If you are reading this, pick a different hospital if possible. Came in via ambulance for extreme dehydration to get an IV. Was never offered water or anything else, once water was obtained hours later, was told not to drink it due to risk of vomiting. Immune comprised person who tested negative for covid was told to stay in the little room reserved for people with extreme covid symptoms. 12 hours after arrival was finally given an IV. Was treated pretty terrible by staff, probably for speaking english. I'm impressed. Not in a good way. Hospitals certainly need more funding. Maybe these guys could use it to hire some better people.

Recently went in for an operation early in the morning, was quite worried about it when seeing first floor. It reminded me of a jail hospital you see on tv Honestly once I went to 3rd floor operation floor the staff and service were very good .I found the staff very sympathetic and nice. The hospital is also very clean !

I went there at least 3 times in the ER and a few times for an operation and the staff are always kind. The place is small so if there is a lot of people waiting in the ER, it might take a while. I’m quite happy with the services I got there especially for a public hospital in Mtl.

If you are reading this. It’s because you are most likely pist off and tired and frustrated and decided to look up the reviews. RUN RUN RUN. Please stay away from this hospital. You are seriously better off going to another hospital and wait for another doctor. Worse hospital imaginable. Dirty/ People waiting with no answer to there question. Incompetent staff. After seeing someone they will find a way to make you wait another 6-7 hours extra. RIDICULOUS. RUN DO NOT STAY THERE. YOU WILL REGRET EVER NOT TAKING MY WORDS SERIOUSLY AFTER YOU HAVE WAITED 10 hours. RUN and thank me later

Nurses were nice, however, I did NOT appreciate entering the urgence and having the security guard at the door tell me to open my jacket, empty my pockets and show him what’s inside my bag. I may be 26 with coloured hair and a patch jacket, it does NOT mean I’m someone who has a weapon or a potential threat and to believe so without justifiable cause is discrimination.

My partner fell off a building two stories high. They neglected my partner for 24 hours didnt even give them one xtray. Now my partner has damaged ribs

Waited for 5 hours on emergency and didn’t event get to see a nurse. Treated rudely by all staff. Went back home in a cab at 3 am and paid for a private doctor the day after in the AM.

Horrible horrible hospital. If you’re going to this hospital you need to bring your stuff because for sure you’re not going to leave early. You will have to wait 12 hours or if you’re lucky you could wait 6 hours. It’s torturing for real.
