Hong Sheng Restaurant

Holidays are always busy but that shouldn't excuse the mundane bored and inconvenient look that was received whilst an order was placed for take out. Told to come back in half an hour when it would be ready. Came back after 35 minutes and waited about 10 minutes with nobody at the register or even asking if we needed help. Once someone finally did come and ask if we had been helped we were told the food was not ready yet, so 45 minutes past. After the wait was over, another 10 minutes we finally received our food. Got it home only to find that the order of spareribs (Which was confirmed twice as ordered) found it to be dry garlic pork, so essentially overcharged for something I never received. Okay so one food related issue, until I opened the deep fried prawns to find they were so overcooked and rock hard we just threw them out. So two food related issues, until I opened the wonton soup which was lukewarm ... if that. At this point we were just done and did not want to travel back into town to get it fixed when it should have been a proper visit and proper food.

Hong Sheng has the best Chinese food in town but it all stops there. The girls that work here never really give good customer service, they are usually slow to help you, I once sat in to eat and ate my entire meal waiting waiting and then finally had to get up and ask if I could at least get a drink. apparently you can’t fill up the take out box as much as you can without being scolded for it so pack the food down henny!!!!! lol The price for take out went up so I rarely come here anymore, I used to come every week but I go to mings instead now since you get more food for a lower price and service has always been better at mings

I remember when they first opened the food wasn't really that good. I recently went again and thought i would give them another go! It was still no good. I'm quite surprised they've been in business as long as they have.

Wonton soup is never hot when I've been there. Next time I may take my thermometer & test to see if it's within food safe guidelines. Buffet is generally good.

Food, is 3-4 maybe 5/10, but it's not consistent. One day we went there everything was good. Last time there some of it was over cooked and they don't keep up with the buffet, sitting too long waiting for our(maybe everyone's) favorites to come up ar the buffet. Service was good. Dessert buffet good. Atmosphere ok-ish. I hope they would be more consistent.
