The missus and I have seldom strayed far from the comfort of Burnaby in the recent months after settling here, so the allure of strudels something that we've missed devouring since last year when we used to hog on the guava strudels of 85°C in California *droolll* was the perfect excuse to drive to Vancouver. It was easy enough to find street parking a short distance away from the place, so that took care of one major worry of mine whenever heading to Downtown! True to its name, Honeybrew Strudel Bar is a neat little bar that offers a good selection of yummy strudels along with drinks. We received friendly service from Brandon and Tanya who patiently answered our questions and helped us decide what to order with their recommendations. Tempted by the different options on display, we ended up purchasing some more strudels to please the sweet teeth! We opted for the Strawberry Cheesecake Strudel which was just perfect - flaky, creamy and delicious! We also got the Peach Strudel and the Apple Strudel which we've preserved for brunch on Sunday if these survive our midnight snacking during the ongoing Australian Open tennis matches, that is!. The Chai Latte was yumm but slightly on the sweeter side - just a reminder that you can request for the sweetness level to be toned down. Highly recommend this place, be it for a quick bite during the day time they even offer savory quiche and Bistro options! or for a drink and dessert combo unusual yet cool! in the evenings.
Beautiful food and moments with great service. The latte was nice and had an amazing strudel latte which was cool. The chicken and bri sandwich was also a nice flavour that makes it a nice balance with decent but not massive portions.
MUST CHECK OUT! Best patio and service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve worked in the tourism & hospitality industry and hands down this is one of the best restaurant in lower mainland. It goes from cafe during the day to bar/lounge in the evening, one of the best concepts. Amazing ambience, fireplace on the patio, great drinks, flatbreads, music and even better service. Derek the General Manager and Scott the owner have gone above and beyond with accommodating/servicing my last minute birthday party. Abby our server is a doll as well! I was able to rent half the venue and they allowed for some F&B modifications for my party. Derek closely worked with me on this party and went beyond my expectations. Over 30 of my friends came and had an absolute blast. This is somewhere you can come to enjoy the nightlife lounging with friends, drinks and great ambience/music while people watching, to bringing your laptop to get some work done/have business meetings, grab a quick coffee on your way to work or bringing your date here under the twinkling lights on the patio. Bring all your friends to check this phenomenal patio bar out, you won’t regret it. ;
I couldn’t be more impressed with how friendly and accommodating the folks at Honeybrew were for my holiday party the other night hosting about 25 people. From the beginning of the booking process I received excellent communication and suggestions from the Owner, which helped me to best plan my outing for my guests. The General Manager was also helpful during the booking process, and then our Server on the actual night was very attentive and friendly the whole time even with so many orders and people to keep track of. The food was a hit, with my guests very much enjoying the chicken wings, baked Brie, and flatbread. And the famous strudels were gobbled up in record time! The strawberry cheesecake strudel was especially popular and I can personally vouch for the tastiness of that one. I loved the outdoor heated patio setting which worked really well for the group size and atmosphere, and it wasn’t too chilly for the most part. I want to thank all the team at Honeybrew for supporting us to have such a fantastic night out, and I recommend this venue for group outings where you can have the chance to drink, eat, and be merry!
Amazing amazing strudels the apple one is to die for! Opens at 10am until super late. My only gripe is that despite being the only customers in there at the start of the day, we had a long wait for our food and the music was super loud.
was there on Pride Sunday and had a good time. in addition to the strudel two kinds: apple and blueberry, the flatbreads were delicious and the avocado toast hit the spot. everything i ate was big enough to be shared with someone special including the strudel. the outdoor patio area with its fireplaces was a nice chance to stretch out and be chill. attentive service. look forward to returning. TQ
A cute new place on Davie with some of the friendliest staff! Have been back a few times now and the drinks and food never disappoints. The only negative would be the same playlist. It often plays through twice per visit and it has been the same all three times I’ve visited.
Probably the best apple strudel I've ever had! Coffee is really tasty, no bitterness, good flavor. Well worth the stop
Not sure why it’s called a strudel bar if they only serve 2 types of strudel and other random desserts. They don’t offer big meals here so I’d come here after for dessert or drinks. The desserts and the strudel are not baked fresh, they are put up in display and then warmed up once u order them. The portions are extremely small and not shareable between more than 2 ppl. The strudel is not a full strudel it’s half a strudel when you order. The food here is mediocre and nothing special. But the ambiance is really nice. There’s fire pits outside and super nice seating.
Very tiny, super casual with a good vibe. If you are looking for something between a Cafe and a bar this is a good option. Only about 5 tables. The patio looks like it is the place to be when the weather inproves. They have limited wine, cocktails and a fair sized food menu. I was excited to try the chicken pesto flat bread, but it was very meh. The chorizo mac an cheese was wow wow wow. So good. I tried their Old Fashioned, one maple and one regular. Both too sweet. $16/drink. I don't think they should charge so much when they are not really that impressive. This is a cute and different option, good people watching location. I'd suggest trying out the happy hour. The pizza was about $15 and so was the mac and cheese. I believe some food is discounted during HH.
