Horrible place to live. The first day I came to pick up the keys to my unit another tenant approached me thinking I was there for a viewing and literally told me to run. I didn’t think it would be as bad as he said but it’s been terrible. Majority of the building has a cockroach and bed bug infestation so I’m constantly worrying I will bring them home as I have seen them in all common areas. I won’t use the laundry room or amenities like the pool and gym to reduce the risk of bringing an infestation into my unit. My car has been broken into which is a normal thing to happen in the Queen and Margaret building. It seems like no one in the office knows what they are doing and they have no sympathy. They’ll get mad at you for being upset about a mistake they have made more than once. They hand out parking spaces that are already reserved. They give notices that have a 48 hour time frame so you have no idea when they’re coming and they have also given notices with the wrong building address on it multiple times. I could appreciate a mistake but making the same mistakes over and over and making it clear they don’t care about their job or the tenants who live here is extremely frustrating.
In my opinion Homestead is very cheap. They want you to work for 40 hours during the week on days , then be on call for nights , but no bonus or pay. They claim you are getting a very small two bedroom without balcony and tucked away from everyone for free , but you work for it and have to pay for it on your taxes. Your salary is less then poverty. And they claim to have u at heart. You have two big buildings to look after. You will be married two your job 24/7. In several places in the contract it states that anytime within 90 day they can terminate the contract and you have to move out , but you could rent one of there over priced suites , but they would give 15 percent off a 2200 unit. Sounds like a big scam anyone who values there self and well being. They want to work you hard, but pay u nothing. They also want the tenants to call to get things fixed like the laundry room appliances. That's what observed anyway. I would stay away from Homestead , for employment anyway, as for living here some places still have original single pane windows and base board heating . There is also asbestos in the buildings and lots of it.
I stayed at the Park Street location for just under a year. Mice and cockroaches galore!~ No, it is not the building's fault, but all three tenants surrounding me were also pains in the arse, to the point where I was miserable living there. The final straw was when I went out around 7 PM on a Sunday evening. I arrived back at my apartment to find my laptop closed. For reference, I NEVER close my laptop--EVER. Yet, the door was still locked when I arrived. So basically management went into my apartment without my permission, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. I would strongly suggest any future tenants invest in some cheap cameras.

if i could leave less than a half star i would where do i begin. first off moved in to 50 young i was supposed to have a renovated unit but it was trashed garbage, black carpeting that used to be grey from lack of cleaning, nothing worked stove and most outlets. also the super is another ethnicity so any time i talk to him about the damages that need fixing from when i moved in a year ago he just plays the i dont know what your saying card even though i have heard and saw him having complete English conversations. oh and they hid the fact they had bugs until we had to pay out of own pocket to get rid of them. large corps like homestead sicken me to the core with there lack of care for humans living standards and disregard for there health and well being. one more point the fact that the city and bi law haven't shut them down makes me even more infuriated. i give homestead -5 *
Very good living here. People are great, staff wonderfull and close to everything. Been here 22yrs.
Worst apartment I ever lived in.
Serves it's purpose as an apartment building though not well.
