Went camping with some friends. Weekend after Memorial Day and it was super quiet, couldn't have been better. Beautiful view of the river. Easy access. Golf carts, tube's, corn hole rentals. They will deliver firewood, half a gator lasted a weekend.
On the second day of our stay, my boyfriend and I discovered that our beer and other belongings had been stolen. We reported the incident to the campground staff, but they informed us that there was little they could do to assist us. While we enjoyed the campground and our location, we were disappointed by the excessive goose droppings on our campsite. We understand that this is a natural occurrence, but it did detract from our overall experience.
Tent sites didn’t impress. Just a big field with big pine trees on both sides. Alot of the picnic tables are in very rough shape. It’s a place to stay I guess
We had a site on the river. It wasn't obvious how to park. But after we did, it was one of the best views we have had. We stayed four nights during the week. It was quiet. Nobody seemed to enforce any rules. The showers are coin-operated, and the showers and laundry were new and clean. We did laundry while we were there. I would stay again!
We booked two nights here on a last-minute trip. When booking I asked for a river front site. We were told the campground was going to be full for the weekend. We had three empty sites on the river near us all weekend. There were no tags hanging on the post showing anyone had them reserved. When we got to town we saw signs for a Fly In event at the airport. The sites are small with little or nothing between them. By Friday night, it looked more like a trailer court than a campground. We had young kids from neighboring campers knocking on our camper and running off. There was no supervision from parents who were close enough to hear these kids. After several times knocking on our camper, my wife was able to catch them. She told them to stop and stay in their own site. Shortly after that, we heard something hit the side of our camper, so we ran outside. We found a frisbee lying next to our camper, and the same kids headed for their camper. We walked over with the frisbee and had a quick discussion with the parents about what happened. They really didn't seem to care. I read other posts prior to booking, and the comments made are misleading. We have camped all over the United States and have never had a problem like this. If you are traveling/vacationing and looking for a quiet campground, this isn't it. The location along the river could be very nice. This is more like a trailer park than a campground. Look at my pictures.
