Always loved coming up here to my parent's trailer growing up. This place is changing rapidly as they cram more trailers and cabins into it. My biggest concern is the prices. To come up for a night and stay at my parents' place and launch my kayak for a few hours costs $21. Free launches all over the river but they will make a regular pay this much? I now bypass this place to go my fiance's parent's camper where the launch is free.
This review is based on the terrible customer service. We had a family emergency tried to get a hold of anyone called over 10 times with no answer. I ordinarily do not leave negative reviews, but the lack of consideration and unorganized employees just terrible. They were not willing to have any empathy as we just lost a family member. I called 10 days prior to our reservation family member was placed on hospice they said we’d lose our deposit because it was under 14 days, I understand policies, but I also work in customer service and compassion is also a thing and I know something could have been done other than too bad we’re keeping your money. I said I’d call back to reschedule, I call again they couldn’t find my reservation at first, then said I already rescheduled when I did not. Then proceeds to say well you’ll be losing your deposit. Nothing like dealing with a death and then losing out on money because customer service here is a joke. Never ever will I plan to stay at this place.
I called a blocked 4 Motel units with a staff member. Each one was $58.00 a night. As the guest started to call to pay their deposit, they were told the price was wrong and the website was notupdates. I then called myself and was told the same then. The woman with a very nasty attitude, said to they would have explained at the time of checked. That is false advertisement. Not to mention the woman said, she was not going to argue and rudely hung up on me. Interesting enough the website still shows $58.00. Grounds appear nice, but their attitude is horrible.
Just stayed there in our camper. The showers they provide are horrible. They were not clean and most of the time the water was cold. My wife even had the fun time of the shower not draining! The employees at the desk are not friendly. When we checked out, we got cold shoulders! Not a thank you for staying and come again. The streets are not marked so navigating thru the huge campground with lots of big beautiful trees is treacherous.They charge $5 a day for an extra vehicle. They also charge $3 a day per dog. We have 2 dogs that really did not cost them anything. We supplied their food and water, and waste bags. Just seemed like they nickel and dime you to death with their added fees and charges! They obviously care more about money then providing a great experience, unfortunately. We really wanted to like this campground because of its location, but it was not a great experience. I think they have grown to big for there britches!!! Just wanted to update this post. As of June 6, 2023, we were never contacted about this negative post . We stayed there 2 years ago. Apparently the management of holiday shores truly, does not care about their reputation.
Stayed there for three nights this week. I love the location as it is right on the wisconsin River. We have a pontoon and we're able to dock it at one of their piers for 20 a night, which was great, though their launch is really not level. The campground has tons of pretty pine trees and is pretty overall. I do wish their playgrounds were better kept. One is full of dirt and all the staff needs to do is hose it down. Why that hasn't been done yet is beyond me. The cost of renting a golf cart is INSANE and I hated that part. You'd have to pay $100 extra a DAY. We paid nearly 600 to stay, do I really want to pay another 300 just to drive a golf cart around? Do better and make that more affordable for people who are already spending a lot just to stay. Overall, it is a decent campground, but could be cleaner. The hiking trail was cute
Great amenities, we enjoyed the pool, Lake/Lake obstacle course, and rented jet skies. But the people are loud and rude, definitely more for partiers.Rooms: 4/5
Great amenities for a campground. Our family has multiple members with trailers here and some have been going there for 40+ years. Family owned, and well run. Lots of fun activities for kids and families on a daily basis. Multiple playgrounds, basketball hoops, a beach, inflatables, a bar, outdoor movie screen etc. Never a boring time at holiday shores and happy to be a seasonal camper there for about the last 10 years.
Stopped in to see if they knew of a place we were looking for! They did and were happy to direct us! Super nice people!
Superior place to rent a pontoon for an afternoon with the family. The prices are very competitive within quite an area. Staff was friendly and efficient & gave clear instructions on operating the boat & safety measures, & giving the right size life jackets-even for our toddlers. The boat was very nice, roomy, & worked well for cruising up & down the river, as well as pulling the older kids on a tube. Even though there was a lot of traffic on the river, we had a wonderful day, relaxing and fun with just our family.
We had a great stay there, such a kid friendly campground! Fun planned activities for the kids and the River tent sites are just steps from the beach and great sunset views right from the campsite! I do like they enforce their quite hours but it was to the extreme. I got a complaint because my 2 year old was crying at 11 PM…on Fathers Day weekend. Insert eye roll The next day when we talked to the office they assured us it was fine but they had to notify us of the complaint. My second issue is the way the golf carts are rented. I do like that the campground only has electric golf carts, it makes it much quieter. But returning at 7 PM each day is a hassle. Our cart still had plenty of battery life left at the end of the day so this policy was a bit confusing. All that said, still a very cool campground and great for families!
