This is a review I could not wait to write. I had a great stay here. I was here for 4 nights. Every person I interacted with was super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Lots of pillows to try, comfortable bed, heating and cooling that worked great and wasn't too loud. The free breakfast was better than I normally get at similar hotels. I'd stay here again, for sure.
Do not, I repeat, do not book at this hotel. The staff and management are scammers and completely incompetent. I work for a school and we had more than 10 rooms booked for a sports tournament. Things changed and we no longer had games in the area so my colleague called and cancelled the rooms. I was in the room and heard the entire conversation the woman on the other end said it was not a problem and thanked him for calling while assuring him the rooms would be cancelled. The school has received a charge on the credit card for all the rooms. When we contacted them to question what was going on they said they have no proof the rooms had been cancelled and are treating it as a no show and charging the full amount. I don’t know how because of their inability to do their job they can charge thousands of dollars. I also asked the lady on the phone if she could have her manager call me back tomorrow when they come in. She said that was not possible and I can call tomorrow. When I asked what time the manager gets in she told me probably around 9 that is when they “usually” arrive and they “usually” stay until around 12. Apparently the manager doesn’t stick to set times and I will need to keep trying back to get in touch with someone. She told me she was unable to take my phone number so that they could call when they do finally manage to show up… I have read some other reviews and apparently this kind of thing is the way they run their business so I again urge you to think twice before booking any stays at this hotel. Also I would like to note that if you have a group of over 10 rooms that you think is no showing their reservation would you not have the common courtesy to have at least called to check in on them and ask if they were planning to make their reservation. Our school heard absolutely nothing from them and got hit with a very expensive bill which apparently we have to pay because of a mistake make on their end by an employee who had assured us the rooms would be cancelled. IHG will most certainly be hearing from us as this is very clearly a scam that they like to pull.
Overall, solid stay. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. Breakfast was good as far as continental breakfasts go. Clean lobby.nnThe room was quite stuffy during my summer stay. I left the bathroom fan on, but to no avail. They screwed the windows shut so no fresh air for me. Ventilation - fresh, typically conditioned air from the outside - was lacking. The room temp was fine.nnThe room and bathroom were all neat and tidy, and the quality is consistent with the chain. Nice, little pumps for soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. With a double, you get desk space, a luggage rack, TV, 2 beds with deep impressions, a good selection of pillows, and a little reading chair in the corner.nnSorry, I can't give a 5 star when I stayed at the Lockwood for the same price the night before. It wouldn't be fair.
I give 1 star becausein order to write this i have too! But in reality i give ZERO STARS. We booked a room a week before our wedding.They call us 5 hours before the wedding to inform us that because we live within 30 miles we can't rent a room. So now we need to scramble to find another place to stay. Told them that it's our wedding night. Sorry no exception. How about u just take my money. It's the 1st company ive ever seen just not want to make money. It's fine, from now on all our family that comes from out of state I'll be sure to let them know about other places to stay.
The windows in this hotel cannot be opened, and there is no fresh air ventilation system. The air in the room can only be exchanged through the hallway, so the air quality in the room is poor, and I feel suffocated. I believe that regardless of the reason, sealing the windows and preventing fresh air from coming in is unacceptable. The hotel staff and breakfast service were excellent, but due to the inability to ventilate the room, I can only give it a one-star rating. I hope they can address this issue. I also advise people who are particular about air quality to avoid staying here.
