Holiday Inn Express & Suites St Marys

Nice clean suite with king bed which was comfortable. Only 2 towels for 2 adults in bathroom- a bit stingy for suite- I mean let's be real most gals need one for the bath and one for their hair. Breakfast area clean, food a bit slim but tasty.

I heard that this hotel was renovated after Holiday Inn took over from Comfort Inn but I don't think they went far enough. The driveway and parking lot still have potholes, and the latter has a particularly deep water-filled hole. The lobby and breakfast area are small, more like a motel than a hotel. The 3-storey building is served by one slow elevator. The room I stayed in also looked a bit dated, with a few design flaws. For one thing, swinging the door open too quickly could smash the mirror on the closet next to it. The separation of the sink from the bath is also a bit odd. The air conditioner, with analog controls, was old, weak, and noisy. On the plus side, the power outlets on the desk and table lamps were quite convenient. Breakfast was a decent spread. Although the end result was not as interesting as the waffles at some other hotels, I did like the pancake machine. Also, with two kinds of eggs and two kinds of sausage, the hot breakfast bar had reasonable variety too. I do think, however, that 9:30am is too early to close the breakfast area. Finally, I thought the hotel staff provided good, fast service at both check-in and check-out. So overall, it's a decent hotel but the room and building were below what I would expect from the Holiday Inn brand.

I booked the room for my sons wedding. We got there price had changed from what i was told when i booked it. Also check in. The girl was great..friendly. Our room was horrible. Didnt know if i was gonna fall off the toilet it was very loose..tub was dirty. Sink was dirty. Came to breakfast at 9. Girl told us. 30 mintues shutting it down. Over all not a place i would stay at again. Nor would i recommend it to anyone.

I was allowed to check in early, staff was friendly, room clean. No problems to speak of, nice place! And breakfast was terrific!

A fine Holiday Inn express. Breakfast was more extensive than I expected it to be, with hot food as well as cold. Standard rooms for any Holliday Inn Express. Clean and satisfactory.
