Really enjoyed my meal at Ming Jia. The line moved quickly, and the food was served very fast even though the restaurant was busy.nnThe roast duck had crispy, flavourful skin and tender meat. The chicken was juicy and tasted even better with the ginger-scallion sauce, while the char siu had a nice balance of sweetness and smoky flavour. The portions were generous, with plenty of meat and rice, making it good value for the price.nnOverall, this is a great place for a quick and satisfying Cantonese BBQ meal. Fast-moving line, efficient service, generous portions, and tasty food. I would definitely come back.
Now I see why this place is so famous!nThere were about 6 groups ahead of us when we arrived, but the wait wasn't long at all—only about half an hour, which felt pretty fast. As we got closer to the front, the staff handed us menus so we could look them over. They waited nearby to take our order right away, which was a bit overwhelming at first since there were so many choices! However, after giving us a few minutes to decide, they came back. This efficient ordering system definitely helps get the food out much faster once you're seated.nWe ordered two combo rice plates: Roasted Pork Belly & Roasted Duck, and Char Siu & Roasted Duck. Both of us are huge fans of roasted duck!n- Roasted Pork Belly Siu Yuk: The skin was incredibly crispy and not greasy at all. Absolutely delicious!n- Char Siu BBQ Pork: Really good as well—not too dry, with a perfectly caramelized glaze.n- Roasted Duck: The absolute star of the show. When ordering, the staff thoughtfully asked if we preferred a leaner or fattier cut. I personally prefer it on the fattier side, so they suggested a perfect half-and-half mix. It was amazing! The skin was crispy and fragrant, and the meat was perfectly balanced between lean and juicy.nAnother huge plus is that they leave the delicious sweet soy sauce right on the table, so you can pour as much as you want. It keeps the rice from getting dry or bland, which I loved.nThe only minor flaw was that the rice itself was a bit too dry. If they could improve the texture of the rice, this would hands-down be the best Cantonese roast meat shop I've ever been to!
I went to HK BBQ Master and I had a fun time trying their Cantonese barbecue. The BBQ pork was juicy and sweet, the roast pork had crunchy skin that made me smile, and the soy sauce chicken was soft and tasty. I liked how fast they served the food even though lots of people were there. The place is small but feels busy and happy with people eating good food. I also liked the rice that came with my meat because it soaked up all the yummy sauces. Next time I want to try the BBQ duck because I heard it’s really good too. I felt full and happy after eating here and I think lots of people would like this place if they like Chinese BBQ!
I have not come to Richmond for more than ten years until now. One of the restaurants I remember very well was the HK BBQ Master. This restaurant is my must come back to this trip. I'm leaving Vancouver tomorrow. I have to have my dinner there tonight. The restaurant was very busy when I was there at around 6:30 pm. The wait is about 15 minutes before I get my table. The employees at the restaurant are so good and attentive. I ordered chicken, roasted duck, BBQ pork, roasted pork, and vegetables. Plus soup and rice. Everything is so delicious. Best quality I have ever had. I wish we had this restaurant in Sacramento. Excellent
My friend and I got:nnBBQ Pork + Roasted Pork $16.95nBBQ Pork + Soy Chicken + Roasted Pork $19.50nIce Lemon Tea + Ice Milk Tea $3.50 eachnnThe cuts of pork are pretty good imo, with a good meat to fat ratio for both our plates. I liked the soy sauce chicken too. Everything was well seasoned / flavoured, and the meat was tender and juicy. I also got some for takeout at $14.80 per pound for Honey BBQ Pork and $16.95 per pound for Crispy Roasted Pork.
