Went on a tour of this historic place which focussed on the women in history. There are tours with many different focuses. The leader knew her stuff and they had written fictionalized monologues by these women mostly in the male dominated Huguenot society but also including natives who were there at the time. Some of the monologues were performed by live actors in costume.

I really enjoy seeing the old style buildings and architecture. It's a nice peaceful quiet spot. It won't take you long to check it all out. Quaint visitor's center and gift shop.

Interesting place, very historic. Several of the buildings are said to be haunted. You decide.

Absolutely amazing history about the founding of New Paltz.  A true hidden gem in the Hudson Valley.  To see a true colonial village so intact is incredible.  The cemetery has graves that date back to the 1600's.  Definitely worth a visit and it's FREE!!!!!!!!!
