I have a business account and this is a great bank with a friendly staff and very easy to work with business/commercial banking staff. They are running a true customer friendly operation. They always make things easy and convenient for me and as a business owner, that is the most important item you expect from your bank. I also see them sponsoring many local non-profit organizations in various fields and sizes which is supporting community they serve which is again a very noble concept you will NOT find in national banks. Besides that, they really have easy to use online banking with app for the smart phones. Couple things I like about it is you can deposit a check using this app sitting at your home and you can transfer money electronically using their transfer feature from another bank without any fees associated with it. If you have a bad experience, talk to branch manager and I will assure you that they will take care of you. This review might sound like sponsored by them but no, this is really how I feel about this bank. I would recommend this bank to business owners and to individual wanting great banking experience.

Good bank with very helpful people. Found they will match offers from other banks in the area on things like home and car loans. They also have farm days in the spring where you can watch chicks hatch! Overall, one of a number of good local banks that offer competitive rates on homes and cars as well as great customer service.

Very caring about YOUR money, they do not charge crazy fees like other big banks.

I have been associated with Hills bank for over 4 yrs. But WhenI called the bank to see if I could get my statements for 6 months, The CSR said They would have to charge $20 per hour. She insisted that it would take long time and also made it clear that I have to pay them $ 20 an hour even I go to the bank and ask for.... In fact, I just logged in to my account and printed off in 2 minutes. .I think I am going to close my account with them.

Hills Bank & Trust has serious security flaws and zero fraud protection for business accounts. I had $95,000 stolen out of my business account via electronic transfer on their website and Hills Bank could not figure out where the money went. The fraud department could not recover my $95,000. resulting a $95,000 loss in my business account. I contacted the FBI and I was told that community banks such as Hills Bank & Trust don't have the security measures in place to protect their clients for internet fraud like big national banks do. For instance, a red flag should have been raised immediately when tranfers exceed $20,000 instead of letting $95,000 transfer without any confirmation. On top of that, Hills Bank fraud department could not figure out where the money was transferred to nor recover any of my money. I had been a customer for Hills Bank & Trust for over 30 years, if this could happen to me, this could happen to anyone. It is not safe to put your money at Hills Bank, FDIC only insures personal checking and not business. If you have a business account with Hills Bank & Trust, move it to a bigger bank like Wells Fargo. Hills bank & trust has a fraud department that's completely incompetent. This is a $95,000 lesson for me, I would never ever put my business account at Hills Bank and I would suggest you to do the same.
