About

Bear Creek Cabins is a family owned and operated business established in 2003.
Owners: Gary and Bev; Matt and Jennie; Mitch and Amanda Stortz.

Story

All of our cabins are constructed of 7 inch lodgepole pine, and feature large porches with incredible views, fireplaces, full kitchens and bathrooms, charcoal grills, and fire pits. We have cabins that sleep anywhere from 2 adults up to 12 adults.

Very friendly and knowledgeable people. Store is clean and well kept and has everything you need for a great day or week of trout fishing! The trout fishing in the area and camping is also PERFECT! Very peaceful and LOTS of fish!
This place is just cool, and like stepping back in time. I swear they've got EVERYTHING in this tiny little store. Fishing, camping, hardware, food, you name it.

Had our family Christmas there on the weekend of Dec. 11-13th 2020. What a GREAT place to have our Christmas for our size of family!!! The owners were top notch to work with! The general store, well it is super cute and had anything you wanted or forgot at home! We stayed in the Whitetail Cabin and it was AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL, they even had a Xmas tree up that was stunning! There wasn't anything that they didn't provide in the cabin! Everything from towels to extra cots! When I asked the family if they would stay again, it was and absolute YES! Thank you Highlandville cabins for your hospitality and your beautiful cabin! We'll be back!
I love this store. It's like out of a movie...great food stocks, snacks, fishing supplies, etc. etc. etc. Wonderful people. This is a true country store - approach it with that in mind and you'll get everything you need. Check any "Big City" demands at the door.
Best kept secret in the state for great fishing and hunting. Been going their 1-2x/year since 2012 and have always had a great time. Can’t wait to get back their!!!
Nice older gentleman but lady NOT nice. Cabin nice but wasn't allowed to park camper on very large parking area to store after we stayed at campground for three days. Wasn't trying to take advantage, ended up taking camper 35 minutes away to store. Disappointing. We were told we could keep pet in tent away from cabin but lady was rude and condescending to us. We have stayed there 6 or 7 times. Will NOT go back.
Restful with really nice people to visit with at the Store.
Friendly, knowledgeable people, beautiful area, best fishing and hunting in the Midwest. Perfect vacation spot to get away from it all with campgrounds and log cabins.
Interesting little store, good selection.
