Excellent place. Great service and good food. Had Monkey Brain sushi.Tasted fantastic and really good presentation. Go in and ask what's in it.Also had the Udon soup with beef, well presented and tasty. Prices are average.
I work in a nearby mall. I eat Chirashidon at this restaurant once a week. Their food ingredients are very fresh. The food ingredients and taste are very good. The server is very kind. I highly recommend this restaurant
Went in to order 3 non-specialty rolls for takeout today and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I asked if I could wait in the restaurant and the cashier also the only server I saw said okay so I sat down in their waiting area so I’m not taking up a table. When I arrived there was one table dining in and I think 2 or 3 more groups of 2 arrived while I was waiting. 20 minutes pass and I assume the chef is just busy with the dine in and the phone orders I’ve heard the server accept so I continue to wait, assuming they’d bring my food over when it was ready. After 30 minutes I go up to ask for an update to see if my food would be much longer and the server says “oh you’re back!” and proceeds to hand me a bag with my food. I never left the building after ordering and I’ve never had problems waiting for take out in their waiting area when I visited years ago with my mom. It used to be when the order was done they’d bring it over to you and I wasn’t told I’d have to come back up to the register to collect my order. The sushi itself tasted okay but I probably won’t be back as I found the server kind of dismissive and I only came in because Sushi Well is closed and I was craving sushi. Sidenote for customers: Their dynamite roll is the same size as the California roll maki size so if you’re expecting the larger size which most places do that’s not the case here.
I ordered the appetizer tempura, it was good. But the seafood udon was not great. It tasted very bland. Also, the menu is HUGE. Too many options, I was overwhelmed. No one can have so many ingredients readily available and fresh!
Restaurant seems nice. We got take out, and saw many other take out orders. Portions were a bit small but good quality. The miso soup was creamy and had nice big pieces of seaweed. We ordered a variety of nigiri and had their House roll regular tuna instead of spicy, which they easily accommodated.
Ordered g-dragon roll, spider roll, appetizer sm and chicken karaage for take out, they look good and taste good, made my nightprice's reasonable, $30+ for one person here was because I ate a lot, hahaha. def will go backFood: 5/5
Very nice place, I have been there two times in the last month, for a late dinner. Beef Udon s super tasty. We also have tried chicken teriyaki, veggie gyozas, asparagus sushi, salmon & tuna rolls and obviously miso soup. Next time I will try sashimi. Menu has enough variety. The dishes in which the food is served is "very Japanese", liked it. No need spend in drinks as "free" tea is fairly good. Service is good, friendly and quick. They look hard working, there were 4 persons working at the most. The place does not look very appealing from outside I cannot exactly tell what it is, but the outside does not call my attention but inside is cozy, warm and clean. I saw that most of their activity is for take out orders. Prices are reasonable. There is free parking lot I guess $1.5/hour one block away Belmont and the 7th street. I understand they have been in business for 10+ years not sure if the administration is the same. I will definitely keep visiting the place, specially because Victoria Sushi is not so close and Sushi Well closed a couple of weeks ago. I am hungry after writing this review... ja, ja. Vegetarian options: Asparagus sushi is very good.
Have been to Hi Dozo Sushi a couple of times now after shopping at the mall across the street. The food is hit and miss. The first few times we went, the food was of a seasoned sushi chef. The past couple times, we noticed the same chef in 2 instances where our sushi was thin, sloppy, and fell a part. Not at all what we had with the other chef. The service is also lack luster. When we walked in the last time, the host pointed in a general direction of being seated. Not led to a table like a proper host. We were not even sure if we were sitting at the right table. Asking for more tea, or the bill seemed like something we shouldn't have to do. The times the food was great were awesome, but the last few times made us not want to return.
Tamago did not taste right. It was bland. I could taste a very old or burnt oil from fried cali roll and tempura. By saving some $ from keeping the burnt oil, you can lose customers as they will not come back. Plus, I found a piece of plastic on the top of my salmon roll. This was my first order and will be my last.
Very good food at a very reasonable price. Service could be a tad beter, but will come again.Food: 5/5
