Came to try their signature Fish Maw Chicken Soup base, it was very yummy which I highly recommend. Even the refill soup is the chicken soup base and not plain water which is great. There was a lot to choose from with their food selections, and they were very fresh. Service was good. One star off due to a couple of things. The condiment area is small with limited selections. They don’t really enforce wearing mask when leaving your table or provide gloves and make it mandatory when scooping for your own sauce. Especially during Covid, it would be nice to see if they make it mandatory to wear mask and gloves when scooping/selecting your own sauce. They also don’t provide complimentary dessert unlike similar higher end hot pot places. This place is a bit more pricey, so just be prepared for that.
Loved their chicken and fish maw soup base, and their fish maw is better than other similar places as it doesn’t taste rubbery. The soup base refills are actually the original soup base instead of water, which is a plus. Modern interior and big tables that can comfortably sit 4-6 people. Sauce bar isn’t as extensive as other hot pot places, but has the basic necessities. No free fruits or desserts though. Also recommend their HK ice lemonade tea. Pricing can be on the steeper side, but the quality is top notch and worth the occasional splurge. Call ahead for a reservation, especially on weekends, since it can get busy. While the location does have parking, but shares its spots with other restaurants—which fills up quickly.
Very pricey hotpot in greater Vancouver. If you are used to AYCE hotpot for one set price, then coming here may give you a shock. The chicken soup base is very good, can drink it on its own or use it to cook the foods. We found a piece of plastic packaging in the soup and they comp us a dish of deep fried squid tentacles. Would I come back again? Maybe for a special occasion? This is the first restaurant I've ever encountered the attention to period pads for their women customers! Very thoughtful gesture!
Newly opened Cantonese Hotpot, inside is elegant , clean and quiet. The hot pot soup is so good, the seafood, beef, and lamb food material is very fresh, the sauce bar provides 3 kind of recipes you can follow their instructions to make this 3 recipes. Dessert red bean soup is really worth to try. If you love Cantonese hotpot, you should try. Suitable for family ,friends or company gathering here.
A new hot pot place in the lower mainland? Social media food influences promoting it? The weather is cold and rainy? Would be a shame if I didn’t go try it then! Intrigued of this new Hing Kong style hot pot restaurant after seeing it on Instagram and had to give it a try. They have a unique soup base which is their House Special Fish Maw & Chicken which also included a whole chicken. Knowing it would probably be pretty busy, I called ahead to book a reservation. I called the number and after a few rings no one picked up so I just assumed they were busy and would try again in 5 minutes. To my surprise, the restaurant called me back. The staff on the other line was very polite and friendly and my table was promptly booked. When I arrived on the day of my reservation, it was busy and wait a bit past our reservation time but the staff were still all very nice and the overall service I received was good. The staff tried their best to explain to us the menu and options. I found the sauce station a bit small with a lack of selection a bit limited. A lot of the condiments were near empty and there weren’t even enough bowls to for my table no fret, a quick inquiry and more bowls were brought out. Just a bit surprised when you compare it to its competitors who have more selection and even some side dishes to eat while waiting for food. Ordered the House Special Fish Maw & Chicken and the broth was amazing. The broth was rich, flavorful and a lot you can really tell the quality of the soup/how long it had been cooking for. I expected the broth to be good but not this good. After each sip, I just wanted more and it didn’t leave an oily feeling in my mouth or feeling or thirst. Even when our soup was low, they were refill it with the same broth and not just plain water. As for the meats and other food selections, there was quite a bit to choose from. Everything was fresh and tasted great with the broth altogether. The prices here were on the pricier side. Unfortunately, they do not provide complimentary dessert like its counterparts. Interior décor was nice and upscale. Overall, a pretty good experience here and would come again in bigger groups.
We went there during dinner time and wasn’t crowded thus everything was served at once. The food was fresh and had quite a few things. The customer service was excellent as they attended to your needs right away. The self serve condiment area was small and crowded, didn’t have a lot of options tho. Over to the soup bases, such a disappointment. The pork rib and peppery pork stomach soups were lack of pork flavour as it wasn’t extracted long enough. The Szechuan hot & spicy was absolutely bland, couldn’t feel the numbness from peppercorn neither could I taste the sweetness of the star anise. All of the soup bases were lack depth in flavour to be called soup bases. As a hotpot restaurant, this is a fundamental ingredient and surprisingly this place couldn’t offer high quality soup bases. However, would probably come back to try the chicken soup as it’s their signature.
Their special chicken broth is very flavorful, definitely a must try on their menu. The seafoods are very fresh and then meat quality is good as well. I only wish I can fit more in my stomach. With all that said, the price is not cheap either, between the 2 of us, we spent over 300$. This is a place where you should come on special occasions, not for a day to day dine out.
Very solid with their menu! Fresh ingredients and the soup base had me pounding bowls back non-stop! And their golden lobster! Very succulent l!!
The meun is on a bit of pricey side but it is definitely worth it. It will call it the best Hong Kong style hotpot place in Richmond by far. The service is unbeatable. The waitress knows what they are doing and serving their customers in the best way they could. They are proud of what they are serving and that makes me feel confident with their food. They provide kid friendly utensil which helps a lot when I am with my 2 years old. Will be back for sure. Their Herbal chicken soup is out of stock this time ,hopefully I can try it next time.
Food is fresh, service is great. But the soup flavouring chicken with fish maw soup and spicy soup was average!
