Great selections of ingredients you can choose for your personal pot. Free sauce bar and ice cream. They have staff refilling ingredients all the time. They charge by weight, so it could adds up pretty fast. The place is pretty packed.Food: 5/5
Went with my mom, sis, and my niece and loved everything, everyone was happy with our portions and it was very easy. As long as you don’t get too much things with water in it it won’t be as heavy when you weigh it, if you have a budget then I suggest only getting meats and probably skimp out on the veggies because they may not be the most fresh at times, ESPECIALLY the seafood! Overall love this place, very glad we finally have one in Richmond!
This place is super super busy. Make sure you line up online and get there in time to make it to your seat. The soup bases are all pretty good, it’s an interesting concept on hot pot, but it’s also very easy to spend like crazy when you don’t keep tabs on how much food you’re putting in. There’s plenty of videos explaining how to get the best value out of your pot. Good news is that if you don’t finish, they let you do a take away container as well. Overall, if you can get over the crazy line and mystery cost of your food, it’s quite a cool spot to have individual style hot pot.
Big Way Hot is hands down my go-to hotpot destination! What sets it apart is the incredible variety of ingredients and soup bases they offer. You can truly customize your hotpot experience to your heart's content, thanks to their unique pay-by-weight system. The freedom to choose from a vast selection of fresh and high-quality ingredients means every visit is a delightful culinary adventure. And let's not forget the sauce bar – a sauce lover's dream come true! Here, you can craft your very own personalized dipping sauces, allowing for a unique and varying taste experience every time you dine. Whether you prefer something spicy, savory, or sweet, the sauce bar has you covered. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to gather with friends and family. Big Way Hot is more than just a meal; it's an interactive and enjoyable dining experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a flavorful, customizable, and fun hotpot adventure.
As many have said before, they have an excellent selection of food. And the drink specials and free ice cream at the end are phenomenal touches that will make any customer feel extra pampered. Aside from the good parts, there are a couple of things they can improve on. Firstly, the quality of the beef slices are at or below average. I suspect they are reconstituted beef. And not the usual “fatty beef slices” or so their shelf label suggests. Secondly, the quality of their rice is also disappointing. They opted for the cheaper Jasmine rice instead of the better “restaurant quality” short grain rice. Other than the aforementioned two minor issues, their selection of vegetables, starches noodles, soup bases, drinks, and sauces are hands down one of the best in town. And I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as one of the best hotpot places to visit in Vancouver.
We came 4 people. Fresh food good hot pot. Create your own portion. Not expensive at all. A lot of choices to pick. They have so many of meat , seafood, and many. This is my second time here. Very friendly service. A lot of free parking. We will back for sureParking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
Big Way Hot Pot definitely does Hot Pot in a big way! This is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of joint located in a strip mall. This densely packed restaurant has plenty of surprises. One enters and gets in line towards a wall of items to insert in your hot pot; then, the food is weighed and cooked in a broth of your choice. I chose a spice broth with Szechuan peppercorns that knocked my socks off. Paired with various mushrooms, meat, and seafood, I ate to my heart's content. Service was very kind, and they checked up on us repeatedly. After our delicious meal, the staff gave each member matcha ice cream in a cone. This was our first Vancouver meal, and it was exquisite.
First time eating here, had a great experience! I went wild with the assorted display of meat/seafood which mixed the flavors. I'd suggest sticking with one type of protein and building off of that. Loved the complementary Thai Ice cream and make-your-own sauce station. Be sure to come in groups! P.S. Abalones cost $2.49 extra
This places gives such Mongolian Grill vibes if anyone even remembers it but it’s hilarious because I never thought I’d be comparing the 2. Upon first arrival you are greeted by friendly staff the staff was plentiful and friendly the whole time and then you are set on your way to select food from dozens of choices. I’ve never seen this before and it’s a shame. You pay by weight and you probably pay more per gram than typical hot pot but you will never be able to have selection like this anywhere else. You could literally just select one of everything! I had no problem with the fact they cook the food for you and bring you a giant bowl with all the food ready to eat. The experience feels quicker but not compromised. I also like how you’re in control of your portions and it is great to have a hotpot option when you’re craving it but not super hungry. The broth was great, the food was great and the service was great. I may still choose Gokudo as a personal fave hotpot but it’s close. Very close!
Great way to enjoy hot pot with a group and not having to clean up a mess at home! Restaurant is clean and well lit inside, with lots of ingredient and broth options. Most items are priced per 100g other than abalone, so don’t put too much in your pot because it’ll be a lot more filling then you think and expensive! They’ll weigh your pot and take it away to cook everything, then you can wait at your table because they’ll bring it to you. They do have lunch specials with free jasmine tea and matcha ice cream!
