Hemlock Crossing is an Ottawa County Park located in West Olive. Hemlock Crossing offers 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. Over six miles of trails meander through bottomland and upland forest, old pine plantations and along the river. Trails connect to Pine Bend County Park on the west end of this property. A pedestrian bridge and numerous overlooks offer scenic views. While you’re there, be sure to visit the Nature Education Center.

A fantastic place to go for long hike in the fall and winter. The fall colors are spectacular and the terrain is very easy to navigate. The wonderful thing is no bikes are allowed so hikers can hike both ways on this trail system. The spruce loop is filled with dark evergreens and there’s always something to stop and marvel over. Take your time and really explore all this park has to offer you won’t regret it.

Lots of great trails to walk and hike. Although I haven't done it yet, there is a spot to launch kayaks and the rivers looks to be a fun, relaxing adventure. So many things to see if you look around. Here are some photos from my last visit. The staff are great - full of info and insight into the surrounding nature and habitat.

Good trail system with a variety of distance options. Well maintained. Very easy hiking with very little elevation change. Great for a Sunday afternoon walk through the woods. Plenty of picnic space available as well. Canoe/kayak launch is what initially peaked my interest but great overall park.

This is my favorite trail in Ottawa County. Gorgeous. So many different ways you can go on the trail. Most people decide to go on the part of the trail that goes along the water, but that's the most boring to me. I'd go further up the trail, especially to the spruce part. The baths are clean, and the education center is VERY helpful!
