Forested park with many options. Part of it does walk along a lake, which was my favorite part.nnThe lake image is actually upside down and a reflection of the still water.
Hidden gem, If your traveling up Island and need a place to stop and walk your dog the walk is just the right length and scenic. About a 15 drive off the main highway before entering Nanaimo.
This is a lovely park with some great trails. The paths are dog-friendly and not too muddy and the views of the water are spectacular.nnOn this particular day, my friend, my dog, and I went to the park for a casual walk. We saw a beautiful cormorant near the start of our little hike and some swans near the end.nnMy only gripe about this park is the tiny parking lot which forces people to park on the side of the road sometimes. Other than this, I highly recommend this park for anything from a family outing to a solitary, pensive walk.
Absolutely gorgeous with two lakes visible from different trails. I only had an hour to explore and I plan to go back and explore the entire park.
We really enjoyed exploring this park. Our first visit. Nice paths. Lots of big trees. I like that. More to come when we make another visit.
