First time coming to Heid's, and I brought my appetite. I had a coney, which was good, but it would have been better with a slightly toasted bun, instead of having it fresh out of the package. The Mac and cheese was excellent, and I highly recommend it. The fries felt under seasoned, so I put the Mac and cheese on top of them, which was a great decision. The Philly was good, and the cheese on it was perfect! Next time I will try the onion rings.
I'm in Syracuse visiting family I live in North Carolina, and we stopped at Heid's for a quick bite. This is a regular spot for my brother and sister in law; I'm glad they recommended it! Nice local hole in the wall kind of diner, I had a NY style dog, a Gianelli sausage, fries, and motz sticks with marinara. Overall the food was fantastic, and the service was fast and friendly, I highly recommend Heid's!!
Husband’s “ treat” stop while growing up in the local area. Definitely worth the stop. Feasted on Hoffmans frank + fried pickles + a LaBatts brew. Brown mustard - whoa! good! Fried pickles a little too salty for my taste buds. Line moves fast.
We were driving on I-90 and this seemed like a good recommendation so we tried it. It was excellent. Service was great. One of best Philly cheesesteaks I’ve ever had.
Wow, just wow. The Gianelli Italian Sausage was nothing short of incredible. In business since 1917, there's no wonder why. Great food, great service and a nice atmosphere.Food: 5/5
If you want a dog, then this is the place. No nonsense. Cafeteria style setup. Order your dog and move on down the line. Mustard, relish sweet or dill, onions, and ketchup if you’re in to that is available to dress your own dog. I got some fried pickles as well.
We both had the daily special and my only “complaint” or request is there are no beef frank or kosher options on the menu and the hot dog was good but in general I don’t prefer the taste or texture of pork. The service was terrific though! Really loved how friendly the team was and how quick everything was served. Clean placeRecommended dishesHot Dogs and Fries
My favorite place to go when I visit Home. Before you ever leave upstate you have to visit here. One favorite is getting a hot dog and coney inside of one bun. It’s delicious! Also the fries with cheese are yummy too. And there’s an ice cream building in the same parking lot. They used to have drive in movies here years ago. I wish they would bring that back.
I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was extremely difficult to eat. Once I picked it up, the bread broke open and everything on the inside, spilled out. It tasted average overall, but the onions and and peppers formed a good combination of flavor that saves it from getting two stars. Overall, I was not impressed, but if I were to go back again, I would try their Hot Dogs instead.
A Syracuse tradition and staple in the Liverpool area. Delicious Franks and Snappy Grillers from Hoffmans! I've been going there for a few decades and it's a must when I get back to NY. The sides are good and it is close to Destiny USA, Onondaga Lake Park, and not far from the Syracuse airport either. Parking: Plenty of parking but it does get busy Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
