This place is just okay. The food is still equally as bland as when I came here three years ago. Service needs a dramatic improvement, including the decor. If you get the chance to sit on the outdoor patio, you will at least have a lovely view to appreciate.
We had Battered Mushrooms, Chicken Wings hot and Fish and Chips. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. The fish was crispy and light, loved the thick cut chips. The wings easily came off the bones in the mouth. However, we visited during peak lunch time so it took time to be seated. Nevertheless will visit again in future.
The food was delicious!! Good sized portions. The servers were very friendly. The outside patio has a nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed our experience here. My children recommend the pizza sticks on the kids meal.
Even though I lived in Owen Sound for 34 years, my experience at the Harrison Park Restaurant was my first time ever. My granddaughter and I were there for lunch about a month ago. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, my favourite of them all. It was the best Reuben ever, and I've had many of them at delis with good reputations in Toronto. Everything about it was beyond perfect, fresh and super-delicious, and even the fries were very tasty. Excellent service as well. We ate on the outside patio, an added treat. I can hardly wait for our trip back to Owen Sound in the fall, so we can order the same thing again. An added bonus - Harrison Park is the most beautiful of parks, a hidden treasure - well worth seeing.
This place has Gluten-free buns for an extra $2.49 and burger patties. I had chicken on a gluten free bun; not the most exciting flavour-wise but it was gluten free and the restaurant seemed to take care to ensure it would be safe for me, as I have Celiacs, to eat. The two I was with had burgers, fries and onion rings which they both seemed to thoroughly enjoy with a reasonable price point too.
Very much enjoyed our meal at Harrison Park. Had the Park Burger with fries and gravy. Service was fast, food was hot. Only comment I would make is the portions of fries could be better. Very inexpensive way to prop up the plate volume a bit. Waters were kept full. It was a great experience!Recommended dishesHamburger, Gravy
Anyone can make a mistake but how a business responds to their mistake is key. I ordered a poutine at the take out counter - I was the only one in line and there was one table in the sit down restaurant so it was not busy. I stood in full view of staff for 15 minutes while I waited and never got my order. No apology or any sincere acknowledgement that my order "must not have gone through". No attempt to take responsibility for this error and do the right thing and make me feel like they valued my time and money at all. I asked for my money back and despite paying with a card was given cash back less the tax I paid! I had to return to the counter to ask for my $1.17 tax paid. No one in this place could have cared less that I had patiently waited for my order. No attempt at letting me know my business mattered a whit. This was my first time here and I was initially pleased to discover this facility right next door to the skating rink and the opportunity to support an independent business. Well, I will never go back. I am now at Harvey's where I got a warm and genuine welcome and a delicious poutine for 20% less cost. One poutine may not seem like a big deal but if it leads to return business, it could mean a lot of business. A real fail today.
We had an awesome experience while we came to Harrison park, a nice restaurant located in middle of Harrison park. We had a dining here in this restaurant during our recent visit to the park. Food is amazing in taste and hot food we in need.the location around the restaurant is much peaceful with lot of children playing area and bird views. Just a walk from the restaurant to a peaceful river.
Only giving 2 stars because of its location inside the park. Decent food but one of the servers was very rude. She made us feel unwelcomed, but i guess the other staff was aware of her attitude and apologised to us on her behalf.
Great place, great food, amazing atmosphere and friendly people. Have been coming here for years, been camping here and now I come for breakfast when I am at my trailer. Decent prices and food is always great. I usually get the park breakfast for $8.99 2x toast, 2x eggs, 3x sausage, and homefries and my fiance gets the hungry hiker $13.99 2x pancakes, eggs, bacon, ham, toast and homefries. Would highly recommend this place!
