Harper Lake Campground

My Family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Camp ground. We stayed in tents and had a nice shady lot. The Owners, Jim and Steph, were very accommodating and friendly. The other “seasonal” residents and campers were also very friendly and easy going. One of them even came over and helped my husband get the fire started the first night. We enjoyed the canoeing and really loved that there is a 10mile an hour speed limit on the lake. We did not feel like we were going to get run over by speed boats, so it made it very relaxing. This is a family friendly camp ground and our dog was also welcome. If I had to pick one negative thing, Albeit the bathrooms were clean, I would suggest an update. I was fine with it but not my teenage daughter. It is camping after all :) Overall, I recommend it and plan to visit there again.

Overall we absolutely love it here. It is quiet and peaceful and the scenery is wonderful. It is a little on the rustic side and the bathroom could use some improvements but the essentials are here. This is beautiful and homey place to spend a weekend and we highly recommend it.

been there for 3 years, price wise I get what I pay for, its not a resort, its mainly for fishing and visiting other campers. We have get to gethers and everyone is friendly, just a few grouches but you have that everywhere you go. Come give a try but remember it's a rustic campground so don't expect resort junk

I have been camping here a few times a year since 2002. The owners do recognize that the campground needs improvements, but with the downturn in the economy, they are unable to do so at this time. The chicken coop is due to the owners children wanting to participate in 4H. The eggs are sold in the store...and they have an Ag license posted. This campground is kid friendly as the owners have young children.

Electric is 20 years outdated. Bath house is filthy, place turns into a swamp when it rains. Owners love to take your money but are nowhere to be found when you have a problem. Jim has a bad temper and is not a people person. We were seasonals for the past 18 years and have watched him run off most of the seasonals. We were very happy to leave. Read More >>
