Harkness Memorial State Park

Very nice place to visit.. we went in March so I imagine the grounds and house must be beautiful in the summer. Good for walking, biking for kids and going to beach. Nothing was open but it was just nice to explore the beach and grounds. Easy walking for those who have some challenges.

Just love it! The park is almost entirely surrounded by Atlantic. Blue wavy water and murmuring sounds make me feel heavenly here! Perfect place to enjoy your precious summer with BBQ, picnic and so many fun. However, parking is free for CT vehicles and for other states, $15 which is still worthy.

Harkness is a magical place!! I run here at least 3 times a week and I love it!! Beautiful ocean scenery, sloping lawns towards the sea, Paths, trails, and roads to run on, heavenly breezes in the summer coming off the ocean, kite flying, biking, picnicking, beach walking, photo opportunities galore - this place has it all!!

This is a beautiful park! Lately it seems to be falling off. Last year, maybe because of covid changes letting everyone in for free, there were all kinds of loud disrespectful people blaring loud music. The staff should limit unruley behaviors and certain kinds of aggressive dogs.

A true gem on the Connecticut shoreline. Easy parking, beautiful grounds, lovely marshes great birding and a wonderful beach. Occasionally the state of Connecticut gets it right.

Great views....the house was ok. Not really my thing. But the grounds were beautiful and the fact that it's right on the water make it a prime location for photos.

A beautiful state park. I'd love to visit in the summer.
