We have been with this Centre for the past few years. Our experience with Day Care started with a famous franchise. But it didn't go well. So after a year, we approached Harbourside Children's Centre. The first impression we got during our first tour ~ 3 years ago was the feeling of home and family-style mindset in managing the Centre. Of course, things could go wrong, and confusion and misunderstanding could happen, but IMHO, how the owners looks at their business determines how you can get through the difficulties. This is a family-operated center run by ladies who love the kids and enjoy taking care of them. And My little one had great years at the Centre. Ms. Racquel Morris was always supporting us. She was always open to hearing our concerns and taking the required actions. We never felt that the Centre pushes us. On the contrary, I can say we are almost always treated better than we expected.
We had our son in here for a period of 1yr, he has extra needs and so the right daycare is especially important to us. The teachers and support staff that looked after him were so caring with him and the only reason we lasted a year. The director was a nightmare, communication was difficult and abrupt, emails on medication and care were ignored, horrible comments were made to us regarding treatments we had to have with our son and eventually it outweighed the good teachers and we got out. Be warned before choosing this spot
PARENTS BEWARE! Being a new parent to the daycare scene can be very daunting for anyone. You hope to find a place where management can have an open door policy and take your concerns seriously, especially when it comes to your child’s health & well-being. Having worked as a high-school teacher myself, I know that establishing a trusting and caring relationship with parents is very important. Things were going very well until a few red flags started to pop up when it came to dealing with the manager Ms.Morris. Serious things where Vancouver Coastal health needed to be notified. Ms.Morris is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. She felt the need to comment on family matters that where none of her business, never responded to serious emails regarding some serious incidents and delayed supportive means that my son needed. I feel it is my duty to share our experiences in order to help other parents looking at enrolling their child under her care, especially if they are looking for a daycare that they can trust. I will give credit where it is due, and say the teachers were very good with my son and we tried to stay there as long as we could but Ms.Morris’s lack of sensitivity, lack of accountability for serious issues and bullying towards us became unbearable. It is comforting to know others who have shared a similar experience have reported her to Vancouver Coastal Health. It took me pulling out my son and visiting a few other daycares to see the difference in treatment and care needed for a special needs child! If she can treat a family like ours so poorly, please know she can do the same to yours! There is a lot of truth to the rudeness people speak of in previous reviews about her!
I am kind of surprised by the negative reviews of this place. My son goes here and loves it, the teachers are super caring and concerned for him if anything seems off. I have never had a bad encounter with any of the staff and have an open door policy when it comes to any concerns I may have. The food they serve here is great too, my son is always content and if he is hungry they continue to feed him until he is full. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a place for their child.
They were awful even on the phone!
Horrible person running it. Just saw the owner kick out a delivery service for parking in their empty lot because the other businesses’ lot was full! Had them parking blocks away just to move some items, in the pouring rain too! Would it kill ya to lend a spot for the time being? If they treat adults like this, I would not want to trust them with my children. No sympathy at all for others.
Translated by Google The child is very good and adapts very quickly, and every day is very fulfilling Original
