Happy Tree House BBQ

Took 2 of my 3 sons out for dinner while my wife was away. Decided to try Happy Tree for the barbecue skewers and fried ice cream. First, restaurant was bright, clean and open. Loved the wooden tables and seats. Staff, they were all very friendly and helped with our order and ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our dinner. If I could rate higher than 6 stars I would. We ordered too many skewers but tried their lamb original and lamb special, Angus beef, chicken and pork skewers. We also tried the squid, tiger prawn they were huge, mung bean pasta and cold cucumber. All the food were delicious and had right amount of heat, not over powering. We ended our dinner with fried ice cream. They're similar to cream puffs but tastier. You get 10 in an order or 12. I forget because we finished it before I could take a picture. I'd highly recommend trying Happy Tree House. We'll definitely be back.

My taste buds long for these! We came here on the recommendation of a few friends and they nailed it. Meat on skewers, beers, seafood, and some carbs. Yes, yes, and more yes. Although everything I ate was fantastic, my favorite would have to be the chicken skin. Crispy and their dry rub goes nicely together. Overall the food comes fairly quickly if you're super hungry. It's also clean, and bright. Will definitely be back over and over again.

Everything was great I got the plum juice and it was a perfect match with the rest of my meal the fish ball hot pot was very good and the lamb skewers were delicious! H Great meal! We ordered too much beer

Good and very delicious bbq I love the XL Lamb Skewers and the chicken skin The soups are so good as well. The restaurant is big and clean and with many friendly and nice staff. The service was good the only thing is of you want to separate the orders for a big table things get a bit messy but the staff figure it out. Overall I had a good experience and I recommend this place it you like bbq meat

Neat Asian style restaurant in Burnaby, B.C., Canada The fish soup was amazing. Seems the most popular fare is the skewers. They were coming of the grill in the hundreds. Great selection, beef, pork, lamb, chicken, seafood. The place was packed. Great service.

Came here to meetup with friends and exchange Xmas gifts. The food was great and came pretty quick after ordering. The fish soup tasted very good! This definitely is a great place for eating meat and drink a beer or two. But the music is too loud and we need to yell at each other to really converse. I made a reservation especially they get super busy during dinner times.

Northern Chinese style BBQ skewer. The food was good. Most skewer dishes were spicy. There were rice and soup noodles as staple items. Overall pretty good experience. Will return.Food: 5/5

It is a good place for drink with friends. Great food but music was way too loud ~ had a hard time communicating. Did like to have soju there though.Food: 5/5

Man. We heard so many good comments around this place, but we still left with disappointment. The prices were high, not to mention there were no flavor in every food we ordered. The chili powder they use..... just one small movement then it's gone...... no flavor, only part that taste good was the tiger shrimp shell... Portions were super small, and in the end, we were forced to give tips........ I mean..... really? It was suck experience. Guess we expected to high. Not coming back, prefer Paramount BBQ, down a few streets.....

I've been a fan of Happy Tree House for a while now. I knew that they served Chinese food, but I had no idea what it was like in person. So, when my friend invited me to their restaurant, my mind was blown at the variety and quality of food. My favorite dishes were their grilled-to-order ribs and their garlic fried rice with sesame oil and soy sauce! Their staff is also really nice, so if you find yourself in the Boston area I would definitely recommend checking this place out. I went to Happy Tree House for lunch with a couple of friends the other day. We decided to have a little try of their lunch specials, which consist of 5 rice dishes, two meats, and two sides for a total of 7 entree's. They were offering up the barbecued ribs and the sesame chicken. The ribs were tender and juicy without being too fatty. And the sauce was sweet without being too sweet or over powering. They also offer several sauces that you can put on your food that are all really tasty. The sesame chicken was just as good. It's a dryer kind of sesame chicken, which I prefer because it means that my rice won't be drowned by sauce. But their hot and sweet is really tasty too! The other side dishes were really good too.
