I didn’t expect before I found Korean’s recent review. After I saw the review, I trust 100%. And actually when I visited here, really impressed. Super clean and well organized. Soup isn’t deep flavor but there are variety of stuffs vegetables, seafood, noodles, and desserts. I think this restaurant is the biggest hot pot place in Edinburgh.! That’s why I give 5stars here.
Delicious hot pot - option for 2 broths and buffet style set up to get meat and veggies. Not many drink options but the food is very good. They have beef, prom, and lamb and a variety of seafood and vegetables. Also a good selection of sauces
Good selection of veggies and meat. The broth we had was the Tom yum and spicy base. Both were good but I preferred the Tom yum base.
It was an overall decent experience but expect near zero communication from the waiters. Side note: The pictures I have are unfortunately frames from the one video I recorded. I’d give everything here a huge yes except the language barrier for non Korean speaking people. There was no proper guide for how to navigate the restaurant down to the last detail - there was some printed paper on the table and some labels at the food stand but nothing on where to pick cutleries or what utensils you needed for this experience. Personally I think all the essentials should be on each table I.e 1 of each for plates, chopsticks for each side of the table and the dipping spoon. My guest and I kept looking at other people’s tables for cues which felt quite uncomfortable. There was no proper labelling of the dipping sauces either - for how much crowd you find in there I don’t think it helps to separate the label of the food item from the food itself. Perhaps some cultures would be familiar with the sauces but I literally had to be fixing a puzzle for what dipping sauce to go for etc. Don’t bother calling to book a table. Several attempts to do so proved futile but we walked in, waited about 20 minutes and got a table. All that hassle aside, their meats were so delicious - starter rib and the lean meats you had to cook. So so delicious. Fish was bland but I guess could have worked with a different broth or sauce. I also liked the buffet concept of it. All other hot pots I’ve been to were more fine dining. Plan to spend 2 hours just eating too because there’s a lot to try. Pretty sure my experience would be better next time now that I know my way around. Yes, I’ll go again.
I have been to this hot pot place twice before, only £18 per person, all you can eat buffet. The food quality and variety are so much better than other places. Spicy soup base is aromatic and not crazily spicy. Workers there are so friendly. I will definitely visit here again.
Enjoyed the experience ambience and food. However as it was our first time ever we could’ve done with more instruction. A very kind experienced fellow diner pointed out that we needed to allow the broths to come back up to the boil before we cooked the food particularly the seafood. She also pointed out the range of dishes available which we wouldn’t have know about otherwise.
Absolutely amazing! Best £25 I have ever spent! Highly recommended!!!
Found this restaurant coincidentally and I would say it's a very good find. It is a typical Chinese hotpot style. The set up might not be obvious if it's your first time. Basically you order two base soup/broth and the ingredients are buffet style - you choose whatever you like from the food counter and cook in your broth. And you can mix your own sauce. The sauce table wasn't labelled so you might need to ask if unsure. It is roughly £20 per pax, drinks not included. There are plenty of choices here which is crucial in good hotpot experience. Seafood are my favourite and they are fresh! You can find fish, prawns, clams, mussels and crabs. Normally I will put them into the broth first thing especially clams and leave it to cook. They will bring out the best umami in your broth later on. You will also find various beef tripes - might be weird to some people but the texture is very interesting, not something you can easily find anywhere - must try! There are also variety of vegetables and bites. And of course there are also meat slices pork, lamb or beef which is a must for hotpot. Grab some slices with your chopsticks and dip into the hot soup for few minutes to your liking. Then dip into your sauce and put the whole thing into your mouth. Voila, that's a masterpiece! Overall, for what they are offering it is a fantastic value. Personally if it's just myself or just couple of friends looking for hotpot, I would go to a hotpot restaurant. Much more choices and hassle free. And this restaurant is a great choice for that.
When you entered the restaurant, the waiter firstly told you to sit in a table. However, as we were getting the seat, a random lady told us that we couldn’t sit there because someone who came after us has to sit there. The service is such a mess to be fair and no one knows what is really going on. The waiter even served our food to other customers. Really bad experience, do not recommend to go!
Very nice buffet style hotpot that charges a flat fee per person. Definitely go for the spicy base, it has a small kick to it
