I really enjoy sharing food with friends here. There are a lot of options for dishes with different spice levels and a couple of vegetarian dishes that I've had. The happy hour is between 3 and 6 and has a few classic items that are great for snacking and sharing. The main dishes are fairly large, and everything I've ordered has come with a side rice, so you definitely leave full. The honey butter bread is amazing. Highly recommend it for dessert. I usually go during happy hour, and I've found the service can be somewhat slow. The servers are pleasant, but there are times where you do end up waiting for quite a while to place an order after calling for service with a button. I've never been in a rush when I'm there, so while I don't mind, plan accordingly for yourself if you need a quick service meal.
We are not very familiar with Korean food but really enjoyed our visit to Hanjan. They have a yogurt/sprite mixed drink that was surprisingly good. Food was fresh, everything had a hint of sweet in the flavours, but never got too much. You have a buzzer at your table to let servers know when you needed them, which was neat.
The restaurant is very nice, was surprisingly not too busy for a Saturday night. Food was delicious and price fairly well. I do like that you can call your server over with a button, however I pressed it multiple times and no one came over for a while. A little bit slower in terms of that, but our food was prepared very fast.
If you find this helpful, give it a thumbs up! Customer WiFi: Washrooms: yes Power outlets: Pet friendly: no Parking: limited street Food/Drinks: Pretty decent food and flavors. Nothing really blows you away but its not bad where you dont want to eat it. Nothing really stood out in my opinion. Service: It took a while for the servers to get to us when we were sat. Not much interaction with the staff. Cleared the table when we stacked the dishes ourselves. Atmosphere: very large and open space. Very nicely renovated and decorated. Chairs were a little uncomfortable and the table was questionable at times but the ambience was very warm and comfortable. If you found this helpful, let me know by leaving a thumbs up!
We made it JUST in time for Happy Hour, ends at 6pm! Both drinks and a large selection of food was on special. Since this was my first time dining at Hanjan and not very familiar with the food, I found pulling up the online menu was a huge help. It has photos beside each dish! The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. Not to mention patience with us 4 girls! Everything you see in the photos was on the Happy Hour menu. Bulkogi taco, Bossam lettuce wrap, friend chicken spicy, soy, regular - boneless/bone in and Mandu dumplings. Not a huge fan of the Bossam as the pork was not to my liking. Personal preference no fault of the restaurant. However I will say the portions were large and price was awesome! Us girls split the leftovers 4 ways in packed to-go containers. I can’t wait return and try more items on the menu! If you can’t find street parking go to the back of the building for more reserved parking. Ample seating while staying a distance from others. All the staff was kind, friendly and helpful. Washrooms very clean as we’re the tables in-between customers. No complaints only highlights! One more thing! The service button on the table is so handy! You ring it when ready to order, get extra sauce, order another drink or just to clear up. Less stressful than waving someone down.
First experience of Korean cuisine. Was great - will be back again! Every dish we tried was quite tasty - looking forward to trying out more! Service was excellent, like the call buttons. Atmosphere was nice, enjoyed the music. Second time here, tried some new dishes and everything was really tasty and service amazing also!
Delicious food, good service, and it was happy hour so a bit cheaper. Portions are quite good you can certainly share a bowl with 2 people and be full. 5/5 I recommend it!
Love the spacious interior. Food was good. Portions are generous. Customer service was okay, my only suggestion is staff should be more attentive especially on checking customer satisfaction and their needs.
*** MUST EAT HERE - BEST KOREAN FOOD IN CALGARY *** this place doesn't miss, 100% went here twice on business, I'm from out of town and man all I can say this is definitely a must place to eat, nothing to complain about, food speaks for itself, flavorful to the point where you want more! PROS • new Korean restaurant or maybe they renovated? • atmosphere is clean & you feel like you're right at home • tons of delicious Korean dishes to choose from, you can go wrong with this place - anything on their menu is perfection • tons of soju to choose from! • desserts are bomb dot com !! • the servers are super talkative - a really good thing! • to order there's a button on the table so whenever you're ready to order you press it - pretty cool! CONS • no parking at this location, had to park on the residential / side streets either than that add this to your list of Korean food places to eat in Calgary ONE OF THE BEST KOREAN RESTAURANTS WITHOUT A DOUBT - THIS PLACE HAS ALMOST ALL KOREAN DISHES GO EAT HERE IF YOU'RE CRAVING KOREAN FOOD!
This was our first time visiting the place. Vegan options attracted me to this place. My husband ordered Galbi Jjim and I ordered Vegetable Bi Bim Map. I believe what they called glass noodles was tteokbokki because my husband's dish mentioned glass noodles on the menu but he didnt find any glass noodles in there. The food taste was average. The gochujang sauce was less spicy and more on the tangy side. I would have also liked an option of substituting noodles for rice. They did have dishes with udon noodles, so why can they not provide some more options! Since there were no substitutions, it did disappoint me. Food experience was average but servers were really good. Ambience was the best component. The call button was a cool option.
