Everything about this visit was phenomenal. We came in and were greeted immediately. The cashier was a charismatic gentleman and was very helpful with our questions. I got the mochiko chicken and my boyfriend got teriyaki chicken. It was kind of spendy but the amount of food we got was plentiful. I personally found it filling and delicious. Happy we stopped in
I am not an authority on Hawaiian food but I've eaten enough of it to know when it's good. Let me tell you, this is GOOD. Not too busy on a Thursday night so service was very fast. My go to is always the Kalua pork and Katsu chicken. Both here are excellent! The other half of the plate lunch is always the rice and macaroni salad. Here, you have a choice of noodles or rice and I opted for the former and don't regret it. The Mac salad... on point! Decent value, too. Almost more food than one person can eat.
Absolutely love hang 10! To see some of these reviews is heart breaking coming from me, another Hawaiian from Hawaii! The food is ONO , the NEW management is the definition of pure aloha the HEAD chef himself is from kohala , BIG ISLAND , HAWAII and cooks with nothing but dignity and pride, I ate there today and frequently with my friends and even spoke with the chef himself who upholds the definition of aloha! they have local Hawaiian/ reggae music playing for you to vibe with while you enjoy your plate, it’s friendly a environment &’ once you leave your stomach will be so full you’ll want to take a nap! this new management is doing big things and you should stick around for it! They had a special of pork n peas a couple weeks ago &’ it was FIRE! I tried the sweet potato fries and requested garlic aioli and I will never not eat it that way! It was so good not to mention the pickled onions made my mouth water by smelling it : , and the Teri chicken &’ kalua gave me a very homie feeling as I’ve been missing Hawaii! This is the place you want to eat and check out, although it is not a fast food restaurant it’s worth the wait , and while you wait you can check out the wall paintings and things hung up or engage in a conversation with the staff!!!
I’m really saddened because I wish I liked this place. The people working were nice enough but the food was not good. If you’re a meat eater you might like it although it was a little salty! but the tofu was awful. I’ve been a vegetarian on and off for seven years and I’ve never disliked something this much : i was literally served a salty but somehow bland block of lukewarm!!! tofu. My dad took a bite and said “I thought it would be hot.” Lmao. Anyways, if you eat meat you’ll like it, the mochiko chicken was fine, but if you don’t eat meat steer clear—Mac salad was alright if not a little flavorless and the side salad was fine.
Had the noodle, steak, and shrimp. Steak was cooked perfectly, sauce and spice was on point. Take your food next door to the Press. Bartender made a great old fashioned not too sweet. Good atmosphere good music. Good times.
All three entrees in our order were extremely salty this time. So bad that I could only eat one of my three tacos. I called to let them know it was barely edible. Sorry to say we will not be visiting HangTen again.
this was the worst food i think i have ever put in my mouth garlic chicken taste like chicken nuggets and the teriyaki sauce taste like out of a expired bottle and the rice is not cooked. presentation is on point but taste is awful super salty.
Nia was amazing. I've never eaten here, so was unsure of the menu. She was patient, explained the different sauces and gravys. The good was amazing! We will definitely come back again.
service was great and the food was delicious. best little hidden gem in town. definitely give the kalua pork a try. A++++
Good food, really expensive, sometimes undercooked chicken. they do not treat their employees well. Jess the manager will take people off the schedule and wait until they ask what happened, say they're fired and can come get their last check for things she forced them to do. Makes people close alone and fires them for taking a break but doesn't even know about the employee that just up and left them to close alone. She needs to seriously evaluate what's important to her. Being sad in your own life is not a reason to treat other people so awfully. Happened to 3+ employees without warning..
