Fish is great! Sometimes a little dry but it's so greasy from the deep fryer doesnt matter. Would give a 5 star if the chips were better, they can be improved in my opinion but still go there for the fish.
Asian owner lady was very nice not wearing a mask tho. Service was nice and quick. Haddock and cod was cooked freshly, very crispy and tasted very good, just a little on the oily side. Not sure if cardbox container was very clean. Nice little patio outside. Sitting on the toilet right now as I’m typing, not sure if it’s from the food...
I wanted to treat myself and ordered the halibut and an order of clam strips. I would imagine that if I removed the oil soaked batter that the halibut was no more then 4 oz. And basically non existent. Clam strips were decent. Seeing as they are already battered from the source. Disappointed to say the least.
Asked first about the halibut piece I’d be getting before I ordered and paid. Tiny piece! And therefore didn’t order the $19.95 piece with chips. Then I noticed how dirty they kept their kitchen, followed by noticing that they used a floor dust pan amongst other non-food-grade items in their food prep. I would stay away and go to River Edge just down the street on the other side of the road. Don’t waste your money and possibly health at Halibut Queen!
Haddock was delicious. Batter was light and crispy. Chicken fingers were ok should have been real chicken. The chips were thick and crispy
I’m not one to write reviews often. I’m also not one to enjoy fish and chips. My wife had a craving one night so we gave them a try. I was so surprised. The halibut was lightly bartered and cooked in obviously clean oil. I thought, maybe it’s a coincidence, will give it another shot. We have since eaten here a few times and find the quality really really great. Especially since it’s obviously not fried in stale old oil. Great job!
The food is very good and so is the service. It's the price that's not so hot. 2 fish and French fries x 2 that cost $50. Don't get me wrong it was good, it's just for $50. I could have had a dinner at East Side Mario's. If price is not an issue for your desire of fish and chips than you should come here. The food is good and you will leave with an empty pocket book and a full tummy....
We've been to a few of these locations, this one especially makes it the best. Fries are absolutely delicious! When my mother comes over, this always requests it.
Not great! The batter is plentiful, but the halibut is not. The kids halibut was not edible. It was just batter with crusty bits of something, that could have fallen off some sort of fish. Kids are people too. It went in the garbage. I hate to give a bad review of a local business right now, but halibut is expensive. It should be edible. The onion rings were good.
