FRAUD RESTAURANT! HORRIBLE FOOD! The noodles and rice they serve are DRIPPING oil, BLAND, TASTELESS. Absolutely UNHEALTHY except for the barely fried veggies. CHARGED 2 DOLLARS EXTRA in the bill, which I saw after reaching home. Before drafting this review, I checked other reviews and my suspect was right. They were charged 2 Extra Dollars for nothing and I bet only a very few notice their bills as +2 doesn’t make up to a lot on the bill, but what a shame to loot, cheat their own loyal customers!!! Sure, first few bites might taste good if the food is hot, but when I could barely finish the meal, all I could say was - What a disaster!

Honestly I have mixed feelings about this place. I come here pretty often because it is halal. I haven’t tried a lot of the menu as I just order the chow mein. I just tried the Chilli chicken and It wasn’t bad. The spice and sauce was nice with the chicken being pretty tender. Reliability is the issue I have with this place. Often times I get tough meat and old tasteless food. Still better then most hakka spots. I would recommend this spot if you are travelling near by and want to have halal Asian cuisine. Their menu is huge which often is pretty scary as big menus are pretty sketchy. The meat is sourced from a halal meat spot so trust me when I say it’s hand cut halal. Overall, this place doesn’t deserve 5 stars and barely deserves the 4 stars I gave it. The reason why I have it 4 stars instead of 3 is because of the portion and prices. One chow mein can fill up two big men or 3 maybe 4 children. I won’t be eating the chilli chicken as it just isn’t for me but before you buy anything you should definitely have the Veggie, Chicken, or Beef Chow Mein. Edit: I also forgot to mention the lady who works there is sometimes disrespectful to other customers. Please don’t take it to heart she has been working there for years by herself and they seem to be extremely understaffed. She is very nice when she gets to know you. Edit 2: since coming back to this place it has seemed the quality of the food has drastically dropped. If you are coming by I wouldn’t recommend it as a halal food option. I would rather go to Mary Browns, Popeyes, or the bellagios pizza store right beside it. This place is beyond inconsistency. It’s become more consistently terrible. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere or if you want to get good food 1/20 times try it once lol.

This was always one of my favorite places to eat. I order from here at least once a week. I'm sad to say that last night I ordered fried rice and my husband caught something crunchy in his teeth and began tasting raw fish. It was fish bone and yes a piece of raw fish . Luckily he got it instead of one of my children as they may have choked on it. If this hadn't have happened, I would have definitely given a 5* review. ‍

This place is a hit or miss with a higher chance of being a miss. Customer service is trash. Food quality is not great. Few years ago this was the best Hakka place in terms of quality and quantity of the food. But man it just keeps getting worse by the year. I go back with the hopes that they read some of these reviews and start to get their act together but no unfortunately. Once a place with great potential is now going down the drain.

Great hakka place in Ajax. The lady was very patient on the phone when she was taking my order. Ordered a small party tray of chilli chicken and a small party try of chow mein. And it was a good portion for the price.

My go to comfort food. Good price, good taste, good value…serving size is great too

I was searching for an AUTHENTIC halal hakka chinese restaurant in the Durham region and finally found Hakka Pavilion in Ajax. They get the chicken from Al Ameen which is HMA certified. Food quality is average, some items are better than others. I tried lollipop chicken, Manchurian and Chilli Chicken, Chopsuey, Manchurian Chow Mein, different types of fried rice etc. Always ensure that you tell them not to add any MSG

Delicious food but very unprofessional customer service when calling in and picking up orders. Treated abruptly and as if bothering them. Rating would be higher but the service impacted the rating.
