Hôtel Sacacomie

Amazing wood fortress overlooking Lake Sacacomie and its hillsides. Inside you're greeted to an amazing fireplace and friendly staff. The rooms are quaint and modest with an amazing view. The spa is simply amazing and activities are plentiful! Would definitely recommend. And yes there's no tv at this hotel, pretty sure you won't die!!!

We’re back from a one night stay at hotel Sacacomie and are mitigated about our stay. We did get that this is an hotel designed for the rustic experience, but for the price, we were kind of expecting a lot more for the room (see explanation lower). The hotel and grounds are unique. The hotel has a special location on a hillside and is designed in a way that you can enjoy the breathtaking view while attending the spa, enjoying a drink at the bar, terrace or enjoying one of their mouth watering meals at the restaurant. The lobby is impressive with the big fireplace right at the entrance. It smells so good! There are also a lot of mounted animals on the walls which is kind of interesting because you don’t get to see a lot of those when you live in the city. We would have appreciated that the animals were identified though. The room was our big disappointment. When we booked the room, we asked for the standard room, one king size bed and the lake view (which is more expensive than the forest view). On the internet site of the hotel, the image of the room was a two double bed room with a sliding door where you can access a balcony. The room we got was in the main building, and the definition of lake view was very stretched, as we got a small room not much bigger than a pantry, with one double bed and a small window that have more of a roof view than a lake view. The bed has a memory mattress that not only took the form of your body, but the one of everybody that had slept in it before you. Moreover, we were right on top of the restaurant so we heard the music and people talking which is very annoying when you’re trying to sleep. The only thing positive about the room was that it was clean. This should have been an economic room, not a standard room. Small notice to people who got allergies to dust and Acaries, there are carpets all-over the hotel floors, even in the rooms, my allergies kicked up in the middle of the night so make sure to bring Claritins just in case. Very important, make sure you bring a tablet of something to pass time in case of rain because there are no tvs in the room, but there is wifi. No air conditioning either so with the small window that we got, we were lucky that the weather wasn’t so hot. The food at the restaurant was great, and personnel was very courteous (well, excepted the lady at the spa who was more acting like she wanted to be left alone than actually answering our questions). All in all, beautiful hotel, great food and drinks, but the room (standard) are small and very expensive for what you get (we slept in 3 stars motel that were more luxurious and comfortable than that). So will we come back? We would, but not at the price we paid (which was a total rip-off), and that’s a shame because the rest of the hotel would worth it.

Wonderful location on a beautiful lake. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Very nice experience.

Rustic romantic lodge on a secluded, pristine and scenic lake. Very attentive staff specializing in french and english languages
