I traveled all the way from Toronto to visit Valleyfield, and at first glance, I was honestly stunned. From the outside, the hotel looks like an old warehouse—unassuming, even mysterious. But then… you step inside, and suddenly, it’s like walking into a hidden chapter of history.nnThe space whispers stories of its past—of the generations who once worked there—and those echoes give it a rare and soulful charm. The ambiance is fresh, the carpets spotless, the gym sleek and spacious. My room? Immense, comfortable, full of light. The restaurant delivered both excellent food and even better service—every detail carefully thought out.nnBut if I had one wish, it would be for an inclusive breakfast to complete the overnight experience. And while the bar next door brings in an odd crowd—especially on the weekends, with the occasional loud or drunken visitor—it doesn’t take away from the hotel’s charm.nnOverall, it was a wonderful stay. A hidden gem I didn’t expect—and one I absolutely plan to return to soon.
We chose this hotel mainly because of location. Our room had an amazing view of the water. The photos also made this place look very unique and an industrial and modern feel. While it looked that way in photos and in person, and the staff was friendly - the room itself was not clean. My 5 year old found pieces of glass on the floor in our room and there were chip crumbs all along the side one of the beds. The bathroom room floor had more than a few “curly” hairs. I did mention these issues with the front desk and they said they would let housekeeping know but I was disappointed that nothing else was done as there was glass on our floor where my kids were playing and could’ve been hurt badly. Also, we woke up at 6:30am to some maintenance being done right outside of our room door with a consistent banging noise. When I took my kids out at 8:15am, a ladder was still placed in front of our door unattended and no worker was around, we had to walk around it and the ceiling panel was missing. Needless to say, I don’t think we will return to this hotel again.nnUPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM THE HOTEL: There was no discount applied to our stay when checking out despite what the owner wrote and we sent an email to the email address provided but have not received a response on any solution and it has been a week.
I’ve stayed at this hotel for the last 10 to 15 years for the Valleyfield regatta. This last stay was sadly very disappointing. Although it wasn’t their fault, the electricity and AC was out for two of the four days of our stay. To their credit they did provide fans for the room. But when the temperature is very high as well as the humidity that doesn’t help very much, but the real problem was the housekeeping. I requested every morning that the room be cleaned and fresh towels. We only received housekeeping service one out of four days of our stay. And that one time they didn’t even do a complete job. Trash not emptied, trash left on the floor and no replenished toilet paper. I guess this wouldn’t be a big deal if you didn’t pay $300 a night for the room but it’s more than a bit disappointing for that price point. They definitely have convenience in their favor for the regatta, but if not for that, I would never stay here again.
We loved our short stay at this hotel. They are dog friendly and had a spot set up in our room for our dog with bowls, a bed, treats and a cute bandanna.nnThe staff are very friendly and helpful, switching to English to make communication easier for us.nnThe Meraki restaurant, which is on site, allowed our dog on the patio. The food was absolutely delicious.nnWe went to Dooly’s first, but they wouldn’t allow our dog on their patio.nnOur room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay.
Everything is advertised. The room is clean and the bathroom is spotless. Definitely one of the best hotels that I've stayed in. Note that if you are visiting Montreal this may be a little bit far away but not terrible tho and the Valleyfield area is also worth a visit.
