Guitar Center

Went there tonight to show how a Martin I purchased in October had a stress crack in it.. I did not purchase the protection plan at the time, I was told I had 30 days and I simply forgot.. I was asked if I need help by what I assume was manager and he got ahold of a tech by the name of Brandon the only guy nice to step up and help.. thank you Brandon! Now on to the kid behind the counter with the black glasses and swooped hair... not only was he not friendly he was cocky, rude, and condescending.. when I asked him if they stand behind the product he said " not if you didn't purchase the production plan" and I said are you serious and his response was " dead serious".. ironically this is the same guy that sold me the guitar and did not tell me to buy a guitar humidifier as he stood there and told my wife and I that they always recommend they you purchase one. It's not the fact that they weren't going to help me and I guess that is the way your company does business , and that is to bad since people spend there hard earned money to walk into your store and finally find something they have been saving for .. but the way I was treated as a paying customer of three guitars of your store was absolutely not acceptable in any company at any time.. I have been in the service business for 17 yrs in the same position and this bothered me enough to write this review.., and this is something I would never do.. no matter what no one who spends their money in your store should ever be treated bad or shunned for not buying your protection plan.. and as for the manager of that GUITAR CENTER you should be ashamed that you have associates that have the right to treat people this way..

Love this place. When they're busy customer service isn't great, so I try to hit off hours.

Pricey,they won't dicker with you,some of the instruments aren't set-up very well,need an employee to get a ladder to get a guitar down off the wall??? They hang all the way up to the ceiling? Plus they are kinda pushy when it comes to deciding on making a purchase,I had a friend who worked there for a while and they have quite a mark up!!your best bet is waiting for one of their periodic sales,then you should still compare the sale price with other store,s reg. Prices. Im sorry but I just don't like the atmosphere??? You can meet other players there,that's the best thing about the store!!? Ed K

I stopped in to return a guitar that a different store made an error on and to check out a new one. I ended up very smoothly returning the old and picking up the new! Jon and the other employees that I talked to we're very friendly and helpful even during a busier time of day. Jon honored the memorial day sale price on the new guitar since that was the sale I bought the first guitar under. I'm in love with the RG I walked out with! Thanks guys!
