I have had 2 inguinal surgeries performed at different times on both sides by Dr. Visger. I read reviews about "bedside manner" not being satisfactory.I didn't find that a problem. I do research. So should everyone. The first surgery several years back was performed laparoscopically with a mesh. The more recent was a robotic technique, which I had not done research. Four star rating is a high rating. Why not 5? I was a little nervous to find a new procedure. The use of robotic takes a learning curve. I didn't know where Dr. Visger was on that curve. There are pros and cons, I have since learned. At any rate the surgery went fine with no problems.
The worst appointment I have ever had. Refused to believe that I knew about my condition that I've dealt with for 8+ years, talked down to me, brought in a male student for my extremely personal exam without asking if I was okay with it, and was overall extremely rude to me. He told me that my previous doctors had been irresponsible and that I had been as well. He also expected me to be able to pay out of pocket for an expensive procedure because I had told him that my insurance wouldn't cover it and had told him that I hadn't been able to pay for the small amount of preventive care I had been doing had to stop because I couldn't afford it either because of unemployment. He was the most rude and inconsiderate doctor that I have ever met in my life and I will actively warn people against seeing him.
I’ve never been more uncomfortable or disrespected by a doctor. I wouldn’t let this dude touch me with a 12ft pole thank god I meant him pre op so I could cancel and find a new surgeon. Rude, condescending and unprofessional. Walked out half way through because I felt so uncomfortable and mistreated.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Visger. He even took the time to call me himself to go over my surgery with me. He is a terrific surgeon.
Dude fixed my hernia 7 years ago and it's still good!
