Since 1950, Greenwin has been changing the face of urban Canada and it's the continuation of our family heritage of innovation, accessibility at the site level, and hands-on management style that's been the key to our success.
Our founders, including the late Harold Green, were among the first homebuilders to concentrate on typical suburban communities within Toronto. They were also co-founders of the Greater Toronto Home Builders Association.
In 2011, the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario recognized our founders with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
In the early 1950s, Greenwin began residential development in Don Mills - one of Toronto's first suburban satellite communities. From there, we began developing multi-family properties. In the 60s and 70s, we built more than 10,000 residential units, including single-family homes, condominiums, rental apartment buildings and community housing.
With Green Realty, our in-house retail leasing team, and our development arm, Verdiroc Development Corporation, our expertise ranges from the management of multi-familly high- and low-rise buildings, to commercial property management. We also have an extensive portfolio of affordable and subsidized housing. Through the Verdiroc Hospital Consulting Division, we have had significant involvement in many of Toronto's most important medical redevelopment projects such as at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Scarborough General, Princess Margaret and the former Wellesley Hospital.
Today, Greenwin is one of Canada's largest privately owned residential property management companies. Headquartered in Toronto, our company has a combined staff of 500+ employees. We professionally own and/or manage more than 1,000,000 sq.ft. of commercial space and 20,000 residential units in town homes and apartment buildings of all sizes throughout central Canada.
As we ourselves are real estate owners, we understand that controlling expenses, maximizing revenue, collecting rents and creating value are critical components to asset management.
